I haven’t read too far in, but it reads like a legitimate novel you’d find in a bookstore.Good quality, immersive descriptions of eldritch truth, and immense worldbuilding.Also the author has also written Vanquier the Dragon, which is a good story on RR,You also don’t need to worry about it being dropped, as the author has reliably finished a few other stories of on RoyalRoad. Only “downside” is that it won’t have 10000+ chapters like we are used to in Chinese webnovels

I feel disappointed. Although the start was good the story it gets worse.The main reason would be, lack of understanding the genre. This novel would be better off as a comedy novel. More the plot thickens the more the emotional MC gets. It gets from Tsundere MC to emotional lover. Jokes starts to lose their shine because of such emotional atmosphere.If you look at romance, there is a very important aspect that is, "Logic".The plot is based random rewards. Random does not go well with logic. Without solid logic romance feels forced. Author probably wanted to mix comedy and romance together but one thing destroyed the whole setup. That is, "IQ"More specifically author has bad memory. I'm not demeaning the author. But this is a serious issues. Coherence and logic of the story stems from past events of the story. So every detail is important. This story gets worse and worse in logic.

Read 29 chapters so far. The dude has awareness of his idiocy but still makes suicidal decisions since he doesn't know what else he could do for his aspirations. That said, this is a hot-blooded MC, there will be a lot of over the top injuries which would make the rest of plebs into permanently disabled citizens. The story has also just begun and he has just started so there is not much to judge so far. Grammar is fine, the translators have used -kun and -chan at times which gives me a bit of fear for the future. But thankfully there is no dense protagonist trope here. I would stop reading if that was the case. I'd rate it 3/5 since there is not much to go on.

Completely different cultures, different ways of describing things, different sense of values. But every single Chinese story that is based in America always makes it like its China, but with English names. America doesn't have the concept of "Face-Slapping". you're right to think so since most Chinese fanfiction is like that, but this is an exception, without tao or dao or that cultivation stuff. Of course, there are Chinese things like the food, but comparisons like "Chinese food is the best in the world" are not made, but the main character's food is the best of all, so in short, it's a good novel without racism but with a little of Chinese things that honestly don't bother at all, he doesn't have a Chinese name for his kids or anything like that. I personally love this novel.

as I explained in the above comment there is no Chinese stuff apart from their food and board game, so it doesn't have that energy ranking, it's like it's like the comics where you know spider man is badass but he couldn't handle Thor. The protagonist has a system that is based on his children (as it is in the title), and it's a different system from the normal ones and pretty cool in my opinion, and his powers are very comprehensive and powerful, but it doesn't make him OP from the start. At first, it's a pretty cool gradual process until he gets to the cosmic level of beings like Odin.

Pretty decent start right? Wrong. There's age gap of 16 years btw MC and his sister and from first chapter itself we start seeing MC making sexual references regarding his own little sister who is a minor. He goes onto talk about sex appeal of a fking 8 year kid and how he won't be able to have more skinship with her once she grows up a little more! SO MC is not only into incest but he is a through and through lolicon. After spending time of christmas with his sister he is suddenly summoned by a beautiful girl.You would think he would be angry at summoner who separating him from his sister, yes he indeed is but the problem is he is not at all fking worried about his sister's future he is only angry at having being separated from his sister. HE IS NOT AT ALL WORRIED ABOUT AN 8 YEAR OLD KID WHO IS LEFT BEHIND. Anyway giving into his anger the first task MC does is punish the bitch who separated him from his sister, and punishment was.... yes... he spanked her... sexual offender right there officer. It doesn't help that author makes it clear the girl looks to be like a young girl who has just started to bud in chest and bum department. Girl out of humiliation she suffered decides to unleash spells on MC but he has cheat amount of magic power so the spells doesn't even scratch him. so the girl decides to fool MC into signing the slavery contract with her which MC being a fking dumbass even with all the intiution of it being a bad thing signs. AND with cliche it is the girl who gets enslaved instead of MC because of ridiculous amount of magic power mc has.Continuing on after learning it was a slave contract MC is rightfully angry and he decides he has to punish her thoroughly, and he does... by raping a girl who he thinks looks like a kid... and by cliche the girl feels that she was lonely and the d of MC is giving her warmth and taking away her lonelines... she falls for mc and decides she will be slave in body and soul to him.Going further mc makes it clear he doesn't like backstabbing bitches, and he would look for other woman but the girl is not allowed to even touch another man... well feminists are seriously gonna kill the author if they do find him... let's just say its that badDID I MENTION AUTHOR SAYS MC HAS HUGE SENSE OF JUSTICE. I read about 115+ chapters of this and just find a review that is similar on my opinion.So the short and dirty. This story is not a 10/10. It's a solid and safe 9/10. I personally have a few gripes, but that is not the fault of the author, just me as a reader. If you grew up enjoying Digimon, Zach Bell, Hunter x Hunter, and other young protag animes you will enjoy this story. If you like progression stories, or wuxias, you will like this story. If titles such as 'He Who Fights With Monsters' or 'Path of Asension' are ones you enjoy, you will like this story. Honestly this is a vibe of a story I've been missing for a whlie. The fact it's over 300 chapters makes it even better.As an overall summary, this is your classic MC starts off weak/different, finds/aquires a 'cheat' or a solution to his problem, and then becomes a top 10% fighter. So far what we are seen as a reader is limited and narrow.Style: There are times I think the writing style is a bit bland, but not in a bad way. (I know that sounds weird) In fight scenes, there isn't an over explanaion, it's just enough. I wish there was a bit more enviromental telling in certain scenes or areas, but I understand that it's not always important. Smells, temperatures, textures, maybe if wildlife noises exist or not. These are missing, but not in a way that takes away from the story. This is just me being picky. Over all, the writing style fits the story like a glove. There has never been a time where I skipped over things due to the writing.Grammar: This one is short. Handful of writting errors, but again, it never takes you out of the story but once or twice. If you reread the sentence, you will understand. There was twice where he and she were swapped with a character and it threw me off really hard, but that's it. Over all, a better speller than I am.Story: Okay, so overall plot. I feel like there are times where there isn't enough. We are told that monsters came to our world, but it's very vauge on the time scale. It's just been 'a handful of years' or 'before the MC was born' yet there are times when it seems other characters have been fighting monsters for dozens of years. That progression in society has been going on for longer than the parents of the MC have been alive. Again, that's just a minor gripe. It's a good thing I want to know more, that means the story is interesting. When it comes to lore, or explanation of powers, this is done phenomoly. There is very little over explanations. Things are discovered slowly and overtime. Never has something been explain and then forgotten. Lessons come back up, and it allows the MC to apply their knowledge correctly.I'm a bit confused on certain plot points, but I can tell the author is setting up for something significant. There is this damn rock the MC bought, and has done zero reasearch on or experimetned. He bought it because it 'felt different'. We the readers know it's important, since the MC looks at it, or reminds us he has it. But does f#ck all with it.Character: MC, is 16 years old. He acts more like a 20 year old who has been 'around the block' three times. His emotions never if rarly get the best of him. I like the character, but he does not act 16. Again, this is easily explained due to his upbrining, and the current 'new world' society. It just surprises me when we are reminded how young the MC is.I feel like he isn't a Mary Stu, but he is pushing that edge. Every encounter that was 'close to ending his life' he comes out of it with a power boost, and little to no punishents.There are sometimes that a scene was over detailed and it was kind of annoying so.....Over all3.5/5?

About the drowning thing, although I have not read the novel yet, I would say he acted in the best possible way to maximize his own benefits. Got to Chapter 17, I'm dropping and I wouldn't reccomend this. Maybe it gets better later. So far there hasn't been any mentioned at all of this "abnormal analysis and memory capability". He just has Telekenesis and Spiritual Perception.There's a LOT of face slapping in the story already. He gets on a bus and sits next to some beauty and then has 2 thugs try to hit on her and attack him. He goes to buy a car and there's some old guy and some lady who make fun of him and say there's no way he can afford it. He goes to pick up his sister from school and the security guard says there's no way he is actually there for his sister. He goes with his sister to buy some clothes and ANOTHER, different old guy and random lady make fun of them and say there's no way he can afford it...Also it's a modern world story, yet for some reason there's been tons of random cultivation-like things mentioned - like MC practicing a breathing method, MC talking about foraging for 100 year old ginseng, some thugs saying they couldn't see Mt. Tai etc.Just feels like a generic cultivation face slapping novel, but in a "modern" setting, though still containing cultivation/martial arts phrases/concepts for some reason.
