As a star wars fan this is great and I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed custom made demon king but as with cmdk I regret reading because there are barely any chapters and they take forever to come out, I read this in November and only 5 chapters have come out since then. This story just makes me sigh. SpoilerJulia is a very pitiful woman. This woman who has suffered in the hands of abusive father and stepmother with no one to love her do so long, gets married to the one person she liked hoping for love but is treated badly because of her father. Fernan emotionally abuses her until she loses all hope for happiness and decides to leave him only for him to turn terribly possessive. This man who so far had ignored suddenly refused to let go of her and she was basically imprisoned in her home. Here are some scenes showing what he said:“Even if it's the same hell, you might start to wish you were by my side."It was obvious what he wanted from her. He wanted her to live as the obedient Grand Duchess like she had been.To live on the apparent great public expense as before. Even if she was hated and treated coldly, even if this was hell, just be quiet and stay by his side.I believe there is something fundamentally wrong with this story. The relationship that came about after Fernan rescued Julia from the demons, gave me a feeling of Stockholm syndrome. He claimed he was sorry for all he had done but refused to let her have freedom. He claimed he would do whatever she wanted but he still kept her in bondage. That is not love in my opinion. She was only just recovering from her wounded heart and he appeared again (even though it was to help her), restraining her claiming love. He claimed he loved her but had to threaten to kill her friend to get her to give up on her escape. And then he sleeps with her immediately after that whispering love and whatnot. Although he wasn't aggressive, I think that already borders on rape because she had already lost any will to resist his will. Love is never forceful so this is plain obsession. The story later explains the reason for Fernan's treatment of Julia but it is still unjustified. I honestly feel Julia could've been happy without Fernan and I wished she could've been but I guess love doesn't always make sense. Don’t know why this one is so poorly rated. Cliches and general Chinese style writing are present. The occasional piece of thinly veiled racism are also present. That being said, it’s still comparatively, much better than the majority of crap that’s getting translated now. It’s nowhere near LotM level, but vanishingly few Chinese web novels are.
The premise to the story is interesting and the writing is decent. The main character is quite smart and so far has overcome most problems with his intelligence and split second cunning. I'm at chapter 75 and so far its pretty good.

I got 16 chapters in and I can't stand it anymore. There's nothing overly bad about the writing or anything but it has a cliche that drives me up the wall. It's where something happens like for example the main character gaining a power-up of sorts and the author feels a need to demonstrate that chance instantly so they write up the most ridiculous concept for an event that feels incredibly forced and unrealistic. I'll post the specific thing below in a spoiler.Chap 16. SpoilerMc decides to buy a gun and finds out It needs supernatural blood to "awaken" so he buys it. On his way back to his house, a monster dog attacks him (middle of the city btw) and makes him drop his own blood on the gun and use it to kill the dog.

Don't get me wrong, he's not a bad character, as in, he is really well-written, but even you as the reader can't help but feel a bit disgusted by him - and this is the hallmark of a good and well written story. MC truly lives up to what are villain scumbag is, just like in the The Way of the Devil. He is unforgiving, cruel, enjoys playing with people's emotion just for the heck of it, especially his own woman, whom he slowly breaks down until she has nothing left but to reluctantly rely on him.
