Yarin's POV:
I wasn't the only one who was shocked. Karter and Anthony didn't expect Azazel to treat me like this, either.
"Why don't you ask Yarin, my lord?" Karter prompted tentatively.
So Azazel asked me!
"My dear grandson, what would you like as a greeting gift?"
I was speechless. Did he think I couldn't hear his disdain and indifference? He didn't care about my feelings at all. He figured that it was fun. It was like teasing a puppy by the roadside to bite him. There was a fearless 'love'.
I said coldly, "You getting out of my body is my favorite gift."
I no longer cared if I could anger him or not. To this temperamental demon, it didn't matter whether he spoke coldly or bowed to me. If he were happy, he would spare one's life. If he were unhappy, it would be useless even if one licked his shoes like a dog. If one deserved to die, he would still die.
Since that was the case, I'd rather vent the anger in my heart than die a sullen ghost.
"Haha, you're so brave. It seems that my daughter has raised you very well." Azazel was not angry at all. He even found my insignificant resistance interesting. "Swearing is not a good habit, is it? But I'm not an old-fashioned person. I know that children your age think this is very cool. As an open-minded grandfather, I should support you."
"Is that so? Old b*stard, your face makes me nauseous. What grandfather? I'm not the same species as you, a bat with mixed hair hiding in the lava. Stop being so self-righteous."
"Oh, my dear, curse as much as you like. I know you have resentment in your heart." The last time I came into contact with your mother, she was very resistant because I killed your father. Back then, she was a rebellious girl like you. She snatched my divinity and ran away.
I was really sad, but I reflected on it later. The relationship between father and daughter should be gentler, so the second time I went to look for her, I deliberately softened my attitude. Unfortunately, your mother and aunt still don't like me very much. They even asked your grandmother to chase me away."
"Take back your disgusting words!" I roared angrily. Goosebumps rose all over my body because of his pretentious sensationalization. "You have no right to speak of the goddess!" Azazel laughed happily. "Oh? Oh, no, no, no. We even had a child together. According to the world's rules, isn't our relationship the closest apart from family?"
"You know very well that it was just a wretched scheme. You deceived the goddess."
"I didn't. To be precise, I lied to that man and exchanged his worthless sweat for my blood. But I've never said a single word to your goddess. This isn't considered lying."
There was no point in reasoning with demons. They were the ancestors of all sophistry and crooked reasoning in the world.
My silence made Azazel even happier. He looked at the believer who had been left out for a long time and asked, "Why isn't the person I want to see here yet?"
"You haven't released the confinement here," Karter said timidly. "We can't leave this space."
"Oh, oh, that's right. Look at me. I forgot about this." He waved his hand, and the black fog permeated the corridor quietly dispersed. "Is it okay now?"
His tone was quite pleasant, but Karter and Anthony were as stiff as fish frozen in the refrigerator. Facing Azazel's smiling eyes, they took a few seconds to regain control of their bodies and quickly left.
It was as if they were fleeing.
This made me even more confident that Azazel was temperamental and not as gentle and easy to talk to as he appeared to be.
"Now, we're the only ones left here." Azazel sat cross-legged and looked out the window at the boundless night sky. A crescent moon was hanging in the sky, emitting a gentle glow.
"Talk to me, child. Otherwise, the waiting time is always very torturous, right?"
I was shocked and said, without batting an eyelid, "I have nothing to discuss with you." "Come on. I really want to talk to you." Azazel chuckled. "Who are you waiting for? The Moon Goddess? Wait for her to defeat me? Or your reinforcements? You're a smart child. You've already noticed that I've removed the overlapping space. Now that we're back in the real world, when will your goddess or reinforcements come?"
I remained silent.
"You know the story from ten years ago, so you hope your grandmother will banish me again? Or do you think your mother will come to save you herself and kick me out of your body? Although you are very afraid, you do try your best to stall for time. What a brave and good kid. He deserved praise."
Unfortunately, he had almost guessed my thoughts. I was indeed planning to do so. The goddess wouldn't sit by and watch the other gods invade her territory. Moreover, the reinforcements from the Lycan pack should have arrived by now.
However, after a long while, the goddess did not do anything. The broadcast station was as quiet as an abandoned building.
