Chapter 1082: The Pursuit In Hell

Virgil’s words made her pause, and she turned to him.

"Ahhh! That is something you will like won’t you?"

"Is it true? can you help get out of hell?" Athena’s attention had been pulled by him.

"I am the guardian to the living here, of course I can help you get out. But of course, that depends on your willingness to have a way out."

Athena frowned. She could tell that this old man was about to use her, but she had no choice. every step in this dangerous land was one that could be her last. One could not truly understand her plight unless they were in her shoes. Right now, there was nothing that she craved more than relief from this place. Even the gladiator dens were not these bad. It was no wonder even the demons abandoned this dead land.

Virgil nodded, "Of course, I can help you, but before that, a test. Lets see what you can do. There a three seals, pathways to which the Corpse family might be released from their prison. However, this one is has the closest possibility of freeing them. If you can stop it, then I’ll show you what you must do, and then you may return back to your earth."

As he spoke, he waved his hand and an image of earth appeared in his hands. The scenery of her world was clear and she could see the people living their lives peacefully. Then again, this was to be expected since Lenny had kicked out all the demons.

She did not hesitate to make a decision.

Virgil gave a side smile, "in case you need me, call my name!" On saying this, he turned into white flames and disappeared.

Athena looked below the ridge once more. the number of devils there were in their thousands. She even saw the Devil that had caused her a lot of problems down there. Apparently it was one of the workers here.

Far ahead, she also saw the hell beast mother. The Devils rained whips on her back for her to work harder, using her power to break this very large crystal seal.

The Baby hell beast no longer distracted by the sight of Virgil also came to look below.

It sighted its mother.

And then it made a screeching call to her.

"NO!!! You big dummy. they will see us." She tried to pull it away, but it did not want to move. And then the devil supervising it all with a purple glow in its eyes sharply turned their way, firing off a blast of cosmic energy at them.

*BOOM!* Luckily it did not get them, but Athena’s eyes widened at this. If those devils down there were to get a hold of her, then it was all over.

"SHIT! SHIT!! SHIT!!!" She cursed again and again as she turned and began running. She ran as fast as she could, with the Hell beast baby following sharply behind her.

As she ran, the hell beast used its head to lift her up from her behind and unto its back. It was apparently faster than her.

This wa snot an offer she refused. However, Devils had began to rush out from the hole.

Hundreds of devils began to chase them.

She waved hands using her made bow and bones that she used as arrows, she loaded three of them up, and forced her demon magic into them. The runes on their bodies glowed intently and then she let them loose.

Loud explosions were heard as many of the devils were blown to bits.

The Runes on the hell beast bones seemed to amplify her power. Explosions upon explosions went out in all directions. As her fingers moved, rainy arrows on the many devils that rushed for them, running like wild tigers that had found a tasty meal after starving for too long.

"You See, I told you not to. But you stupid mutt. You wanted to say hi to mummy. Now see what that has gotten us." she cursed at the hell beast and as if to reply her, it screamed back.

Athena was good, but her arrows were not infinite and the devils were surprisingly very fast, with a few of them even capable of flight.

These ones had wings and naturally caught up to her and her Hell beast even faster.

She removed a bone that looked like a spear. She immediately stabbed the first one that came at her, striking it squarely in its eye.

Blood splashed on her face, if it was before, it might have been a problem as she would have feared being infected by the chaos magic, but right now, she did not mind. Her understanding of the world as a result of her gnome made it that she was such a unique fellow.

Her cells under her command could simply purge the corrupt magic out of her body.

However, the fight with these creatures seemed like it was without end.

The chase had resurrected other devils from their caves and they too, wanting a bite of her began to chase.

The worse part was that she was losing her weapons one after the other. The Spear she used had already been used like a javelin, and now she was using knifes.

She knew that they could not continue this for long.

Even though she was with an Hell beast, they still attacked continually, as if to say that they knew it was just a child.

"Wait a minute... Hell beast! Of course." An idea came to her head, and she patted the Hell beast’s back, follow behind that mountain over there, I have a way to buy us a bit of time."

The hell beast, understanding her, turned in the direction she pointed out rushed through as fast as it could.

As it did, Athena carried her last arrow, and then putting a tremendous about of power in it, she fired it. Not at the devils this time around, but at the mountain top, as the Hell beast baby made the sharp turn...
