Chapter 1087: Athena’s Command

And then she starred at the hell beast in surprise. However, there was still more. She could not believe it, but she actually heard a word. It was deep like the voice of a dying old man reminiscing on his life.

It was one word, "Nuisance!" Simple, but encompassing all of the hell beast’s annoyance.

This particular hell beast had more similarities with a tortoise even though its giant head that was the size of towering building was that of a Crocodile. The rest of its body was obviously within a shell.

Athena did not have eyes, but her sensing of her environment told her the extent of the greatness of this creature.

But what truly amazed her was the fact that it spoke. Its mouth did not move like a human’s would when they spoke. But she heard it clearly.

"You can speak?" She asked.

Making the one inverted eye of the creature to turn in her direction, as if to see through her, and then it dilated, "you can hear me?"

Athena was surprised by this question. "Well, when one speaks, its only natural for one to hear the other, or is it not?"

The hell beast was obviously surprised, and then it spoke again, "But I did not speak."

Athena was confused by what it said and then it continued, "the fleshline can hear me!"

Those words echoed across the land, and then all of a sudden, red inverted eyes popped open all across the land. They were a lot of them.

"Impossible!" a voice was heard.

"its only a fleshline, its not possible."

"They are only good for a snack!" Another one added.

"You must be mistaking!"

"You are just too old!" Yet again, the voices spoke. It was as if it was an argument amongst them and they could really not believe that it was possible.

Athena turned to them, a frown on her face, "Are all of you calling me deaf or retarded?"

They was a sudden silence amongst them. And then Inverted eyes turned to one another as if asking for confirmation that they were not the only ones that had heard her response.

"Its true, it can hear us. the fleshline can actually hear us!"

"Finally! The one above all as heard our prayers. we have not been forgotten..."

And then an inverted eye three times the size of all the others opened up and all the voice fell silent.

This particular one, fully surrounded by fog so thick that even Athena with her blessings could not tell its size or what it was seemed to zoom even closer.

As if to observe her. It floated all around her and the hell beast baby and then it even appeared underneath her feet, which was an incredibly strange thing.

"You are not pure.... Your human image, stained by the disease of demons... And... something else... something deep. Like the..." The huge eye spoke out in a low sweet feminine voice as it observed her.

Athena was not wearing the best clothes, and certainly did not have eyes, but before this particular entity, she felt as if she was naked.

And it made her uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that she bloated out, "STOP!!!"

From deep within her, her bloodline seem to respond to her emotions casting out a wave of energy that formed a bloody rune when she opened her mouth to speak.

All the inverted eyes moved back in shock. And for a few seconds, the entire place was silent.

And then the Huge Eye appeared again, "I had heard that the One above all had created the fleshlines in his own image and likeness, but apart from their souls tasting a little sweeter than the others after bathing in sin and the pain of suffering, I had noticed nothing else. But you..."

Athena stepped back a bit.

This had not been what she hoped for. She had come here because she knew that strong hell beasts were here. They usually came to give food top these much older ones.

Considering that she could now communicate to a degree with the baby hell beast, she thought maybe she would be able to find a hell beast that those devils would fear. After all, devils indeed had a natural fear for Hell beast.

If it was strong enough, it would help. Hell beasts were more of a community than they looked to be.

However, she was not expecting that she would be considered a Zoo animal to these things.

"A sample of the perfect Genome. The first time you came here, we thought nothing of you. But to actually hear the words of our thoughts after merging with the essence of one of us."

Athena’s eyes widened in surprise.

"Don’t worry, we are not angry that you consumed the little one. It was for survival. We understand!"

Athena nodded, "you said I can hear your thoughts is it not normal?"

"No! It is not. We speak of a language no tongue may utter. It is much easier to proceed from Hell, through the burning cores of all the primary Planes all the way to the land of paradise than it is to speak our tongue. We have existed too long, too old to be remembered nor forgotten. We are the first born after the light, heaven and earth. We are... Primordial."

Athena frowned a bit. She had indeed heard of primordial beings. She had heard about them from her time with Minnie back in the Nether realm.

She knew that they were created with every primary Plane. And that even her earth had their own. They were like keepers of the world.

However, the Huge Eye immediately corrected her. "No! We are not like those adorable puppies. We are... more." And then it looked intently at her, and even though Athena was without her eyes, her eyes were drawn to the Giant inverted eye, as if to gaze upon it and see the secrets within.

"You... You are. Heavenly Beasts?" she spoke out.

"Once were! But like the fallen winged ones, we were also swayed by the songs of the Morningstar in the heavens. We now suffer punishment here for all eternity, same with our offsprings."

Athena realized what the Hell beast was saying.

This was the first generation. Meaning that there was nothing like hell beasts before these ones, only heaven beasts, and then the true Hell beasts were the long time offspring of these beasts.

It was no wonder that the huge eye had the guts to call the Primordial beasts of the primary planes adorable puppies. After all, it was general knowledge that the Heaven and its hosts were the first of creation.

"We have been mined here, flesh and bones, stripped away time and time again. The Morningstar had lied to us with its songs and promises." it spoke with deep bitterness in its words. So deep that Athena even without eyes felt like shedding tears.

She could feel the pain of The Hell beast, and since she began this conversation with them, it was as if her bond with them was getting stronger by the moment.

She could literally feel her power level climb.

But at the same time, it felt like an ocean that was about to enter a storm.

"To know that a Fleshline can communicate with us is a sign that the one above all has not truly abandoned us. We have heard the stories. Your kind is so favored that you were even gifted a messiah to save you from the sin of your Adam. That means that unlike us, your prayers do not disgust him. Maybe If you intercede on our behalf, he will forgive us.

It has been hundreds of thousands of years in this torture, we have suffered for our sin of believing the Morningstar. Besides, he is dead now. Prayer for us, that we may receive his favor."

On saying this, the Eye seemed to bow. And as it did, the others also did the same thing.

Athena really did not know what to say about this. In truth, she did not know of any messiah, had never sin or heard about one, and the only person she had actually seen behave like a savior was Lenny and she hated his guts.

Besides, she did not believe in the existence of this One Above All and his ways.

"I am sorry, but I don’t think I can help you. I was not even able to stop those abominations from screwing me over. There is no way I am able to help creatures that were born literally before the creation of my world."

"We were made not born!" One of them corrected.

"Exactly," She nodded, "you were MADE, and that even makes things worse. I am lacking and have no deeming qualities whatsoever. I am sorry, but you got the wrong person to be asking for help."

"Do we? Then Why can you command the Rune mark that holds us? A feat only the Primordial demons should be capable of."
