Chapter 930: Demon Rank Is Useless here: The first lesson

Slowly, lenny opened his eyes again.

The first thing he saw was legs, but they were upside down.

These feet, terribly looking were ankle deep in dark blood that gave off a nauseating smell. but surprisingly, Lenny did not barf.

And then he felt danger about him.

He hurriedly looked to the right. There, a see-through creature, reddish dark, with a horns sticking out of its eyeless face rushed at Lenny.

Lenny panicked and pushed against the body carrying him.

He fell on the ground, the dark red blood splashing all around him. But that was not enough to shake the Devil after him.

He backed off some more, turning hide behind a boulder, but the devil passed through the boulder, reaching down to take a bite of him.

Just before it reached, a knife went through its head and and out its jaw.

The Devil sizzled in the air, turning into nothingness.

"Oh Come on now, boy! you were showing so much promise earlier on. you even came at Samuel with a blade. Where has all that spunk gone to now?" Cain chuckled as he extended in his hand without even looking for another devil creeping up behind him.

"Attack?" lenny backed away, obviously afraid. "I have never..." His head still hurt a lot. he grabbed it in pain, and then it flashed in his mind. The last thing he remembered was being over Samuel and then he passed out.

It was true. he had indeed attacked Samuel.

"but i have... I have never held a blade before." he spoke up.

"Oh Really!?" Cain chuckled as he whistled loudly to a member of his team. Even though the others were battling devils, Cain’s call was louder than any devil’s battle cry.

A sword was thrown his way, and he kicked the sword in the air towards Lenny. The Blade spun in the air and its edge was just about to shave off lenny’s head but he raised his hand, grabbing it by the hilt before he did.

At the same time, he flipped and tore up a devil sneaking behind him.

This act surprised Lenny himself.

"I have many questions for you boy. But you’ve lost your memory. Fortunately, your body still remembers who you are. And we just happen to be in a very good place to help you recall.

So stay sharp boy. The lesson starts now!"

On Saying this, the other members of Cain’s team sighed. One of them even made a prayer sign lenny’s way. All of them looking at him in pity. After all, Cain was interested in teaching him.

it never ended well for such people.

"Now, listen Boy!

Its clear to us that you are human, or to be more precise, a half born human. So a lot of this will come easy to you. But first a brief history of this place."

As Cain talked, his hand, carrying the terribly made dagger still waved in the air, killing devils that came close. He did not even look their way as his blade continually cut them down to meat chunks.

"This Place is a Subplane known as Celesterra. It is what you would call a Conjoined plane. Unfortunately, it is Plane that just so happens to be in Asmodeus Royal family territory, and is ruled by a noble of their extended bloodline.

Now, like any Subplane out there with intelligent life, it is riddled with Devil Dungeons. As you can see, a dungeon is literally littered with these guys.

Now, you might be wondering why we are here. A lot of things I wont tell you. But the general knowledge, that, I can share. After the death of the Morningstar many years ago, the Lucifer royal family was scattered amongst the cosmos.

Note, this is a family that was at least four times the size of the biggest royal family. Rumors have had it that Lucifer saw the betrayal coming and thus implanted in their genes this spread.

Chaos magic because of its fundamental nature is dangerous but because it is ’chaotic’, it brings surprising benefits with its extreme danger.

Demons cannot enter Devil Dungeons as a cosmic rule, but other species of the Fucking Underworld can.

The bottom line is this. Many have freed their home from Demon oppression by using the treasures they find in these Devil dungeons.

The Royal demons also realize that these dungeons have treasures that other species can harvest and use against them, so they manage ways, bounty hunters to help them clear it them too, and of course, hand over the treasures.

We on the other hand, do not want that to happen. You see, in this world, we are known as rebels and our goal is to free this world of the rule of demons

So we raid the dungeons and take any treasure we can lay our hands on.

Some say that the Morningstar is literally sacrificing his family members for the sake of vengeance. But that is just the surface of the gist." On saying this, Cain grabbed Lenny by a hand and flung him into the horde Of Devils in the distance.

"Now, listen to the sound of my voice, boy! because if you don’t you might as well leave your life behind."

Lenny was surprised at the sudden throw, but his muscle memory kicked in and he gave and impressive landing. However, he had barely landed when a devil scratched at his back.

He managed to dodge the attack, but a claw grazed him.

lenny gave a painful moan. He turned. There was no scar on his back, but he clearly felt the pain.

He then heard Cain’s voice, "that my friend, was a Soul Devouring Devil. Which brings me to the next part of the lesson. I mean, the really disturbing part. You see, we are on Celesterra. because of the nature of this place, more than half of the creatures here are ethereal in nature.

And they feed on soul energy. This basically means that on Celesterra, your Demon rank is useless if your soul is not strong..."
