Chapter 949: We Owe You!

Almost as soon as Mupstick had become ash, Lenny had deceided that it was high time that they moved.

For some reason, this place made him feel uneasy. He felt as if eyes were on him. this feeling came from both far and near.

On the other hand, Venir fell on her knees in tears. She had been with mupstick for many many years and now, he was dead.

Lenny turned to her, "We can’t stay here. That Demon is hunting us. We have to move."

Lenny’s words were straight to the point. he was not even going to give the little girl the opportunity to mourn a bit. There was no time.

She nodded at him and he lifted her on his shoulders.

Lenny was not entirely healed. In fact, whatever it was Venir did to him only felt like he had taken a temporaly pain reliever.

he could still feel the poison of the purple flames in his soul as it tried to consume him.

At the moment, Lenny fought back with Holy power, but this was greatly limited. The reasons for this were numerous.

If Lenny had faced off against chaos magic or dark magic, he would have still had a better chance at making it. After all, Holy Power was the bane of those kinds of magic.

Even if the Chaos or dark magic was of a purer quality than his own, his chances of survival would not be this bad.

on the other hand, Jin were creatures that were birthed from Nephilim, which in turn had their origins from Angels. practically speaking, the flames of this jin were a perverted version of holy power.

It was corrupted holy power dipped in even more corruption. Considering the soul level of the Jin in relation to lenny’s weak and injured soul, he was in a very big problem.

But that was not the only problem Lenny had.

he was a foreigner in this world, and did not even know his way around the place. Coupled with his loss of memory, he was like a lost puppy in the midst of a storm.

The only thing he could depend on was his instincts that had been molded by years of battle experience and his connection to the cosmic force.

Carrying Venir on his back, he spoke up. "I know this is not the best time to talk, but Mupstick said you have good instincts for survival. I want to trust those instincts now. Where do we go from here?"

Venir wiped the tears from her eyes. she pointed at a particular direction, and Lenny, followed.

The Wyrm of souls on the other hand, now figuring out their general location underground, chased from above. At different times, it attacked but its purple flames would reach their previous location too late.

Again and Again, venir pointed at different path ways through the tunnels and Lenny followed them.

So far so good, it seemed like her directions were taking them further away from the Predator and even deeper into the earth, making even more difficult for the creature to both sense and hurt them.

However, that feeling that he was being watched became more apparent. This feeling was not from the Wrym of souls. It was from somewhere closer.

But no matter how much he searched around himself, he just did not see anything.

The paths Venir choose only made this feeling more apparent as time went on, and then they went through a corner and lenny froze in his steps.

After all, in front of him were a group of people in a meeting. However, these people were not people of the land. Instead, they were demons.

they seemed to have ben having a small argument When Lenny had suddenly invaded. "Fuck!" Lenny cursed. He tried to turn and leave. But the moment he did, another figure appeared behind him.

This was also a demon. However, it was reptilian in nature. Even though it had an incredible build, its chest and demeanor still gave it away as a female.

She sniffed in the air, "hmmm! A half born." her voice had a sweet after echo that felt inviting to the ears. She waved her hands, and claws as long a sword protruded through her fingers. "Just when the problem of food gets bad. The stars send us a human for dinner."

Those words were defining of her intension. Lenny looked at this Reptilian woman in the eyes. Those yellow eyes with the lined pupil. it was them. Those were the eyes that he had felt track his movements all this time.

He wanted to move, but his instincts told him not to. Not because he couldn’t. But because her aura had locked him in place. This Reptilian natured Demon was actually a greater demon existence.

Lenny was only a rank 5 Great demon. To challenge such a being was sheer stupidity.

The Reptilian Demon leaked her lips. Her forked tongue showing the zeal of her appetite.

Just then, a loud screechy sound was heard from the outside.

And then came the shaking of the cave. The other demons caught off guard by this were a bit shaken but not this Female demon.

She frowned. "It seems someone wants to contest Dinner with me!" Her tone was one of annoyance.

She waved her hand in the air and her claws tore through the fabric of space. Instantly, her big frame disappeared through the slit it provided.

However, for a reason lenny could not understand, he still could not move.

An even louder SCREECHING sound could be heard from the outside.

In a few seconds after she had left, she returned.

Her hands were stained with purple blood. "Good! Now, where were we? Yes! I remember. Dinner walked up to my door." She grinned at Lenny.

Her gaze was a piercing one.

"Fuck!" lenny cursed as he turned to escape. However, he could feel Venir holding him tight by the neck, as if to stop him.

For a slight second, Lenny was already of the notion to through the young girl into their midst and use the temporary distraction as a means of escape.

After all, it was not as if he had any sought of deep engagement with her. So far, it has always been about survival.

By now, even this Lenny, with his memories lost, could tell that he was not much of a good guy.

But Venir’s hands glowed a bit. Not exactly observable by the demons that had now surrounded them, but this glow sent a shock into Lenny’s head, and his gaze was instantly drawn to the Emblem on the clothes.

After all, these demons were not wearing armor like the soldiers. Instead, they all had on a dark uniform with an emblem of a snake eating its tail on one side of their chest.

Now that he thought about it, When Mupstick had first opened the cave entrance, he had seen this emblem on the cave door. Subsequently, he had been seeing this same emblem on the walls within the passage way at different points.

Yes! the feeling that someone was watching him. It had first come from the serpent eyes on the emblem. The same eyes that the reptilian demon was carrying.

This emblem coupled with Venir’s stimuli excited an old memory in his head.

First came the familiar but distant voice, "you will soon leave the eighth earth. When you do, and you run into trouble, use this. Any member of the Ouroboros clan will see it and know that you have helped me, and therefore owe them a great deal."

These words had been spoken by Domani after Lenny had killed Cuban. She said it was her thank you for helping her avenge the murderer of her husband and her son.

Lenny could not exactly remember her face, but he remembered the Emblem he had been given.

The Reptilian Demon advanced closer, "now that the bird outside has been dealt with, let’s have dinner, shall we?" She leaked the purple blood that leaked from her claws.

The demons around Lenny chuckled as they bared their teeth. "let’s have stew for Dinner, chief!" one off the demons spoke up.

Another one suggested roasted, and another suggested fried.

However, just when the Reptilian demon was about to dive on him, Lenny waved his hand and all of a sudden, an emblem appeared.

This was the same one as the emblem on their chests. However, there was something about it that was different.

It made all the demons pause in surprise. The reptilian demon sniffed in the air. She retracted her claws as she stepped forward and took the Emblem from his hand.

Bringing it to her face, her slender tongue leaked it. Her eyes widened in shock. "This can’t be! its the youngest lady. This... This is her blood seal!"

Those words instantly caused a small uproar amongst the demons.

The reptilian demon looked at Lenny. "It seems I got it wrong. We are the ones owing you dinner!"
