Chapter 950: The Pig Market

"So let me get this straight." Cena, the Reptilian demon spoke up as she addressed Lenny."The last thing you remember is falling hard into the plane, and then you met Cain and his rebel group. After which, they tried to sell you out but, then you fell into the Silent valley and then you encountered Nana the hunter.

After which, a Demon Soldier of the Royal Asmodeus family began hunting you..." Cena shook her head.

"What?" lenny asked.

"Nothing! you have been in this plane for five minutes and you already get more action than any of us."

At the moment, Lenny and Venir were in a room he liked to believe was Cena’s quarters.

This of course was still underground. It was decorated with Demon head finery, but more than that, different kinds of wine decorated the walls and ceiling like hanging lights.

From Cena’s explanation, this was the Ouroboros merchant tribe. They were in fact a merchant tribe that were spread across the multiplanes leading all the way to the underworld.

Because of their interest in solely trade amongst species, they had become a family with an information network so wide and so strong that several of the royal families would rather not get on their bad side for fear that they could harm them using their competition.

Although they were not of royal blood, their formidability made them gain the title of nobility.

Some could even call them the rulers of the underworld. Domani, who had found herself being taken by Cuban after the death of her husband was actually the youngest daughter of their Patriarch, and had been declared missing for a long time.

lenny presenting the Emblem he did, showed that she was alive, and that he had done for her a big favor.

Unfortunately, even lenny did not know the favor he had done for her. This, he could not be blamed for. After all, he had lost his memories.

Regardless, he was held in high regard. After all, the Emblem was only given by the highest members of the family to show their debt.

Lenny got to discover first hand, that the Ouroboros tribe always paid their debts.

Surprisingly, Cena still gave him back the Emblem after she confirmed its authenticity. but not without giving a scar with her finger.

According to her, Lenny could ask for a Favor three times from the Family. With her, was once. Once three scars had stained the Emblem, it would then become useless.

As they talked, they was a knock on the door, and Cena gave the order for entry. "Ahhh! finally, I was getting really hungry."

A tray containing well roasted meat was brought into the room.

One look at the skin, and skull of the meat brought to the table and Lenny knew that this was an Earthen Elf.

The demon dropped the tray and then backed off after bowing to Cena. Without wasting time, she dug in, starting with the eyes of the unfortunate soul.

Cena scoped it with a fork and straight into her mouth it went.

The juicy sound of crushing eye ball as some of the sauced liquid slid down the side of her mouth was a sight that made Venir hug Lenny’s hand even tighter.

She had been in this situation since they arrived.

Lenny got to understand the food chain of this world with clearer explanations.

The Earthen people were vegetarians by nature and fed from the fruit given from the earth when they prayed. However, demons fed off everything else.

But their major food source happen to be the Earthen Elves. Just as it had been on the eighth earth. Lenny got to understand that all demons had a kind of superiority complex.

They saw themselves above every other specie there is. And just like how human beings see themselves above cows, snakes, rodents and other animals, and therefore fed on them, the Demons also fed on other species.

On the eighth earth, they reared human beings in Gladiator pens for both food and sport. But on this plain, it was different. They let the Earthen elves live their lives and hunted them as Game.

For the demons, it was like running a game reserve. they did not want the Earthen people to be eaten completely, but when their population had become too much, their numbers were significantly reduced.

To make matters worse, Cena explained that the entire plane and its twin plane had been in a significant problem for a while now.

For a reason no one could understand, no portal into the planes or leaving the planes was possible.

It had been this way since the fall of the Morningstar. This essentially cut off information between the outside world and the twin planes.

This left those that had been kept in charge as the sole rulers of either royal families that ruled the twin planes.

Ironically, both were actually human by origin. However, they were not ’normal’ human. After all, these women were known as sister’s of Eve. A tag on their name that they most despised.

Just after Adam, they were amongst the first of the human race. But had chosen the fruit of the tree of knowledge over becoming mates with Adam.

Of Course, that was historically thousands of years ago. Now, things were more different.

Each of them was said to have reached the Arcane Realm. No human in history had ever reached such level in power. Coupled with the gift that came from eating of the tree of knowledge in the first garden, they were practically walking treasures.

It is said that the Asmodeus and Abaddon royal families had paid a heavy heavy sum to secure the positions of both women in their families, and had instantly given them titles once they had decided to join.

Lenny did not join Cena in her meal of the Earthen Elf. It was not that he did not want to, and it was definitely not because of Venir by his side. After all, lenny had fed on a lot of things, including Demon and devil meat.

It was a Dog eat Dog kind of world. As such, it was best to be the bigger dog eating the other dog.

The only reason was because one look at the meal, and he could tell that it was badly sauced.

Cena saw the look on his face, "I must apologize for the meal. But it all we have to offer. Most of creatures on this plane are soul beasts. this means that they do not have a physical form we might prey on."

lenny did not mind and waved his hands. Instead, he asked more important questions. For example, he had been told that the fruits harvested from the earth by the Earthen elves when they prayed to the earth could help mend his soul. He wanted to know if he could get some.

Cena sighed at this. "It really shames me to say this. Especially because we boast ourselves to be a merchant guild, but we are greatly lacking when it comes to resources. And items like that are especially used to increase our battle prowess against the Soul beasts and Jins of this world.

On Celessria, the crystal fruits harvested from the earth are of incredible value. Since Soul level is greatly valued in this world, cultivation concentrates heavily on the soul than it does on the physical. It is true that we owe you for helping our Youngest lady. For this, we have decided to grant you temporary shelter away from the Royal Demon family that pursues you.

But asking us to present you with fruits of the earth would be like asking us to give you a arm. After all, that thing might still happen."

"That THING!?" Lenny asked.

Cena nodded as she wiped her mouth with a napkin, "please, come with me!" She invited.

Lenny followed after her, and Venir, still sticking to him like a baby to its mother followed along.

Cena activated a portal and Lenny and Venir went in with her.

Portals leading to outside the plane were not possible, but within the plane was easy. The Portal led to the back of a shop.

Cena led them through this shop. It sold weapons blessed with soul energy. The owner on seeing her abrupt entry was not surprised nor angry.

Instead, he hurried forward to greet her with much bootlicking. then again, he was an Earthen elf. She paid him no mind and led the two outside.

This place, was without light from the sun as it was even deeper within the earth. But it was made bright with lamps at different sides.

Shops opened at different points selling different things. Lenny with his observant eyes, could see that a primary form of exchange was not stated.

They were those that used weapons, some others made exchange using organs, and some others using soul beasts and jins in cages.

This was a binary system of exchange. Although Lenny found it to be quite crude, he did not judge.

However, what really caught his attention was the fact that this place had both demons and Earthen elves buying and selling in harmony.

Considering the brief know how of the plane he had come to find out, it was easy to think of how impossible such a thing was.

But here it was before his eyes.

Cena turned to him, "Welcome Lenny Tales to the PIG MARKET..."
