Chapter 971: Holy War
Chapter 971: Holy War
"Viscount! Viscount!! VISCOUNT LOKI!!!"
Immediately, Loki opened his eyes to the call of his name. He looked around. He was still in his chambers. All that had happened. It was only a memory.
The Abyssal Chamber had left lasting memories even he as a half god, with his many years of existence could not help but shiver at it’s thought.
Although, it was not what he asked for, it was at least a defining step to his goal.
He reached into his robe, bringing out a silver pendant. With a flicker of his finger, it opened up, and the image of a demon woman was revealed. "Don’t worry mother. I am close. Once I take the eighth earth’s king, then, I’ll be strong enough to have you back, and kick that old man’s ass!"
Once more, his name was called. He waved his hands, and the chamber doors, like the organ of a beast, parted ways to reveal a Great Demon commander. Then again, this was the belly of a Hell beast. Tamed strictly for the purpose of travel.
The Demon walked forward, and gave a standard bow. Not too low to show submissiveness, but also not high enough that Loki could find fault with the salute.
Loki noticed this, but said nothing about it.
"What is the matter!?" He asked.
"We have entered the atmosphere of the Eighth Earth." The Demon reported.
Loki nodded, "In that case, begin with the invasion." He ordered.
"Baron!" The Demon called again. "There is a problem."
"What is it?"
"its... the demon paused and then, his eyes landed on Loki, for the first time since he entered the room. "... the gods."
Loki raised a brow at this, but with a wave of the hand, a section on the wall opened up to reveal the outside world.
When the demon had said that the gods were the problem, Loki had believed that maybe one or two, still wanting to lay claim to the earth had shown up.
After all, he knew how that race of beings thought, and he was sure that they would not interfere.
The reason was because of the kind of power that the Royal Demon families commanded. Besides, the Abaddon royal family had a rich history of killing that made them the bane of many beings in the cosmos.
Also, he had betrayed the gods, turning to his demon half.
This was not something that Loki regretted. It was all to push his goal, and get back his mother. It had been many many years since he thought of a way.
It was also the reason he helped to convince the god assembly to partner with the Demon royal families fifty years ago, when they backstabbed the Morningstar.
Loki stared out, at the host of golden light so far off in the sky, that it looked like a golden sea.
"It would seem like the Lenny family is desperate. Inviting the gods into their plane." Loki chuckled as he turned about. "Prepare for battle."
The Demon soldier nodded and left the room.
As soon as he did, black liquid, like melted ice, flowed from the walls, wrapping itself around him. "The Demons don’t like you my love!" Despair spoke up.
"I know, after all, I am part god. But right now, they have no choice. The Abaddon royal family is one of power, and after my baptism in the Abyssal chamber, a place only an appointed few have entered, coupled with my appointment as Viscount, they have no choice but to acknowledge me.
As time goes on, I will PEEL true respect directly from the flesh of their hearts."
"And what of your father!? From the looks of it, even he, Odin, as sent an Avatar. You must have really pissed him off this time, for him to go that far even though he has lost significant amount of Faith since the battle with the Morningstar."
Loki Chuckled, a low brazen laugh. "Let them come. This me. I am not like I used to be. Besides, as long as I am alive, the invitation granted by that Lenny family remains, allowing me to bring my subordinates into the plane.
This invitation falls under any person I deem to be my subordinate, even if they are far higher than me in power or rank."
Despair giggled a bit, "but my love, are you sure it will work? The Principality only made you a mere... Viscount. You lack enough power to command the legions of demons under the family."
"True! But even I could tell why the Principality made me a Viscount. It was because, Noble and Royal demons are very prideful. But with my position, those of significant power can be shameless and claim to be my subordinate so that they can eat off the glory of the battlefield."
"Oh! I see... that is indeed a loop hole to be exploited." she giggled some more, taking mortal form. Her arms remained wrapped around his neck, and she placed a deep kiss into his mouth.
With a wave of his hand, a bed was formed from the ground and he placed her upon it.
"Oh, wow... we have a battle to attend and you want to do it now?"
"Well, like I said, part demon. War, makes my blood hot, and your body is the relieve I desire..."
Loki and despair engaged with one another.
.....
Meanwhile, on the other side, it was entirely different.
The atmospehere more serious, and more focused.
The gods, many of them using avatars, and some others of lower rank appearing in person.
An incredible army of souls that had proven loyalty to them stood behind with weapons at the ready.
Incredible special beasts as mounts, all radiating a fierce faith magic. This was the beginning of what many would later call an holy war for the Eighth earth.
However, Loki was not the only one passively interested in this battle. After all, proper observation would reveal that not one of the Lenny Family members was amongst the fighting party...
