Chapter 972: Battle on Multiple sides

"Father Black, all humans in a five hundred kilometer radius has been evacuated just as you requested." Clawed walked over to father Black.

Father Black stood on a mountain as his eyes gazed far off into the sky. On one side was Hell Beasts carrying hundreds of Demons from the Abaddon royal family, and another side was the host of the god army.

From a normal person’s point of view, one side of the sky was bathed in Dark clouds, almost like the sky was about to vomit filth unto the earth.

And at another side, was the beauty of the heavens about to bless the earth. It was indeed a beautiful sight to behold, and yet the anticipation of dread hung heavy in the air.

At this moment, a portal opened up and Victor walked over. "I was able to evacuate some of the mutated beasts that live in the area, but I was not able to go too deep.

Besides, I doubt I did them more good than harm. after all, they are mutated. Will such a situation of energies not be beneficial to their growth?"

Father Black nodded, "Yes, it will. But we don’t want them evolving too much, beyond human capability. As you know, people have to hunt, and feed. I rather we control the growth and strengths of the mutated beasts as best as possible."

Victor nodded. His eyes gazed far into the distance. He could not help but sigh, "are you sure this was what brother Lenny really wanted?"

Father Black sighed, "sometimes, I doubt it too. But at this point, there is nothing we can do about it. This way, we have no choice but to wait and see what happens.

As you know, the cosmos is a really big place. Those big shots will be watching. this will buy us time to grow our power best we can. Trust me, for us to truly find peace, we will one day have no choice, but to declare our power against the entire Demon royal families."

Clawed not so far away also sighed.

Victor turned to Father Black, "there is also something I’ll like to know. Why!? I mean... why did you not tell us about the plan in the first place?"

Father Black gave a snicker, "there is an old earth book. I think you should read it sometime. It is titled the Act of War. One of the Lessons in that book states that, to deceive one’s enemies, a person must be able to first deceive their own allies."

Victor fell into thought. All that had happened so far reflected in his mind, and he could not help but think that father Black had a point with that.

"Besides..." Father Black patted Victor’s back, "The Mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind." He chuckled a bit. "Now, we wait for the fruit of our labor, and pray that Lenny’s plan does not fuck us all up."

Victor nodded, "yeah..."

"Clawed! Is Nikky ready with the weapon from the gods?" Father black asked.

"She said she would need some time to finish the calibrations for it to be mass produced. The other Elders, Isiah and Zod are working on the Rune configurations with her.

Those books on advanced Rune Lenny left for them has proven to be very useful."

Father Black nodded, "good! Remember to remind the gods. No matter what happens, in this fight, the goal is to take down Loki. He is the one Morgana invited. Once he dies, the invitation to bring his subordinates in automatically becomes void."

"Of course Regent!" Clawed responded.

Father black waved his hand and a portal appeared. He went through it and the others followed after him...

Meanwhile, in a faraway world, deep within the cosmos, another battle for life was taking place.

"Demon, I have told you time and time again, surrender to us the child with Solomon’s bloodline and we will grant you life in peaceful death." A loud voice from the monster’s back screamed at Lady Vinegar.

It had been almost a month since they arrived. They had come in a space ship so big Lady Vinegar had been able to see it from the surface of the plane.

All of a sudden, nether beasts, many of them had assaulted the sub plane.

To her surprise, these were witches. They commanded spells and runes that even Lady vinegar in all her life had never seen.

they bombarded her with spells, in an attempt to kill her, and take Lenny’s son from her. But she would not budge.

the adversities faced on this plane though daunting at first have only deepened her bond with the child. And now, she was not a care taker anymore. No! She was a mother fighting for the safety of her beloved son.

In the time so far, Luca had grown significantly. Because of the harsh environment, Vinegar had been unable to secure food for babies. Luckily for her, the boy was not ordinary.

His diet included blood from Demons that Vinegar found and killed, and in cases were food was extremely rare, she would feed him with her own flesh and blood.

Every time she would watch him feed off her, she would feel a deepr connection to the child, and the child to her.

As the saying went, ’what does not kill you, only makes you stronger.’

This subplane had contributed incredibly to the growth of Vinegar’s power. The gravitational pressure exerted on her bones and organs, coupled with the dependance for sustenance on Cosmic energy, and of course, constant stress of battling nature and demons in this plane saw that she grew fast in power.

As things were, she had somehow managed to become a Rank One Great demon.

Naturally, she had become more of a force to be reckoned with. But so were her opponents. This would be the biggest trial so far that she would have to face as a mother.

After all, these were not like the witches of the eighth plane. No! They were the Old ones...
