Chapter 973: Test A Mother’s love
Chapter 973: Test A Mother’s love
---
Meanwhile, in a faraway world, deep within the cosmos, another battle for life was taking place.
"Demon, I have told you time and time again, surrender to us the child with Solomon’s bloodline and we will grant you life in peaceful death," a loud voice from the monster’s back screamed at Lady Vinegar.
It had been almost a month since they arrived. They had come in a spaceship so massive that Lady Vinegar had been able to see it from the surface of the plane.
"FUCK! FUCK!! FUCK!!! These fucking Bastards AGAIN?"
The spaceship was a grotesque blend of advanced technology and ancient sorcery. Its hull was forged from dark, obsidian-like metal, inscribed with glowing runes that pulsed with a sickly green light.
Spires and turrets jutted out at impossible angles, adorned with arcane symbols that twisted the eye to look upon.
It moved silently through the cosmos, a ghostly leviathan against the backdrop of stars, powered by engines that thrummed with both mechanical precision and eldritch power.
The ship’s surface was dotted with crystal orbs that swirled with misty enchantments, each one containing the trapped soul of a fallen witch, adding to its eerie, supernatural propulsion.
These witches were not the backwater witches of the eighth Plane. No! These were the old Ones.
It is said that the first witch in the world was the Wise one. A humble man that had thrown aside the temptation of riches for the prospect of peace and love for his people. For this, he was granted wisdom by the One Above All himself.
But King Solomon the Wise had also had a tubulous life. And with wisdom came knowledge and the curse of it.
After his believed death, his apprentices had spread the arts to the rest of the nine earths, enlightening humans in the manipulation of Negative magic and the bend of nether creatures to one’s will.
This was his way of lending the humans of the future a stand against the inevitable end time.
Of course, his gift, was a double edged sword. After all, many demons took this gift to their advantage and propagated the apocalpse on the earths even further.
But his legacy still lived on. It was in these people. Even Vinegar had heard about them in old tales even before she saw them in this world.
Of course, they were practically, myth now. not showing their face in the outside world for countless centuries. These were the old ones. A group of witches that had lost their home earths to the previous apocalypses, but managed to survive and thrive together.
After hearing Luca’s cry, they immediately came for the child. After all, through his mother’s bloodline, he was very special.
All of a sudden, nether beasts—many of them—assaulted the sub-plane. These were creatures born of both nightmare and shadow, their forms ever-shifting and grotesque.
They moved with a predatory grace, their bodies covered in dark, chitinous armor that seemed to absorb light. Their eyes glowed with an unholy fire, and from their mouths dripped a viscous, black ichor. Tentacles sprouted from their backs, writhing and coiling as they lashed out at anything within reach.
Also, they emitted a low, rumbling growl that reverberated through the ground, each sound carrying a sense of doom.
Obviously, these witches were even capable of mutating creatures like the Nether beasts.
They commanded spells and runes that even Lady Vinegar in all her life had never seen. They bombarded her with spells, in an attempt to kill her, and take Lenny’s son from her. But she would not budge.
Lady Vinegar stood her ground, a strong and fearsome mother against the onslaught.
Her eyes burned with an intense, otherworldly light as she drew upon her demonic heritage. Cosmic energy crackled around her, illuminating the dark landscape in flashes of blue and violet.
With a fierce roar, she unleashed torrents of hellfire from her hands and mouth, the flames searing through the air with a heat that could melt steel. The fire roared like a living beast, consuming even the dry earth in its path with insatiable hunger. Turning it glass as a result of the seething heat.
But that was not going to be enough to hold back these witches. After all, when it came to demons, they had seen the worse.
Runes rang in the air, to both absorb her power, multiply it, and use it back at her.
Lady Vinegar had to to get out of the way. The Attacks were even worse when they came back.
"Shit!" she caused, holding Luca even tighter—the young child against her back, held steady by the skin of a demon she had ripped out and dried under the sun to make nice leather. "Hold on tight my dear."
She fought with a ferocity born of desperation and maternal instinct.
Her movements were swift and fluid, dodging the spells and attacks from the witches and their nether beasts.
Each time she unleashed her hellfire, the ground beneath her feet scorched and sizzled, leaving blackened craters in its wake. The child on her back was further shielded by a protective barrier she had cast, a shimmering aura that deflected any harm that came near.
With a guttural scream, she thrust her hands forward, releasing a concentrated blast of cosmic energy that tore through the ranks of the nether beasts, sending them sprawling back in agony. Her hellfire followed, engulfing them in a blaze of infernal wrath. The air was thick with the acrid stench of burning flesh and the cries of the damned, a testament to Lady Vinegar’s unyielding resolve.
Meanwhile, within the big Space craft belonging to the Witches, a figure in the command chair watched Lady Vinegar’s struggle with incredible interest.
A witch in long robes, and a covered face having the symbol of a voodoo doll on it, approached the figure in the Command Chair. "We can easily destroy her if I or any of my sisters go to retrieve the Bloodline heir. Why do you not let us go? After all, that is obviously a demon with the child."
The person on the command Chair smiled, "Can’t you see, that is no Demon... Its a mother. Besides, if it were you, overwhelmed by such a force, would you still defend the child?"
"I would defend the Blood of King Solomon with my Life." The Witch defended immediately.
"No! that is not what I said. After all, the demon does not know that. I am asking if you would protect a child outside your blood, and specie with your life?"
There was silence.
"I thought so too. Its time for the last phase of the test. Focus the Array for the Proton Canon. Lets see How far this mother can go!"
