Chapter 986: Runes And Laws/ Rank 6 Great Demon
Chapter 986: Runes And Laws/ Rank 6 Great Demon
Lenny knew that this Devil boss was more interested in feeding on him than all the others. And as such, he presented himself as both the meal, but also the Trap.
Coupled with the fact that he had entered the Semi-Arcane Domain on his own accord, the confidence of the Devil Boss had increased.
And as such, Lenny used this confidence to his advantage.
When Lenny had finished fighting the Second Devil Boss, he had swallowed its core, but had refused to absorb it. All he did was extract the fraction of law from it. The Devil Boss core itself was left to be intact.
Lenny drew a shadow rune on the core, and then he stored it within his body.
The Third Devil Boss had believed that if it took lenny’s ability to move, it could feed on Lenny the way it wanted. Also, the only reason Lenny had beaten the other devil Bosses was because he had been able to move.
At least that was what the Devil boss thought.
unknown to it, Lenny never planned to fight in the first place. After all, the goal of it all was to Win without losing. And this was a trick any sensible assassin was good at.
Lenny already had the ability to be able to control his body cells. This was a skill he acquired after killing the servants of greed and gluttony that had been sent to the eighth earth.
of course knowing what part of his body that the Devil Boss would take was not something he was capable of knowing. However, the devil Boss only took Lenny’s ability to be able to move his body to make motion. unknown to it, what it would have taken was Lenny’s Will.
After all, that was all lenny needed to win. Lenny had willed the Devil Boss core he had prepared in his body before time into his arm as the devil Minion had pulled it out vigorously.
The Devil Boss had not examined the arm to check and had gobbled it in its hunger for Lenny’s flesh.
The Devil Boss had literally chucked down on an active bomb without knowing.
After which lenny had detonated it.
Of course, this was not Lenny’s first choice. The plan had been to use the core of the Slave Demon Commander that he had gotten, but he had to sacrifice his useful pawn for the opportunity to escape.
It was indeed a loss, after all, if he had absorbed either one of the cores, his power rank would have increased again.
However, it was better to be alive and have the possibility of seeing another day than to suffer death because he was trying to be singy with power.
Lenny explained the circumstances of how the Devil Boss had lost as he fed into him, scooping the Devil’s brain like juicy noodles, and then, in one gulp, he swallowed the core.
Just like the other Devil Bosses he had killed, they was no item drop whatsoever. Lenny was starting to doubt what he had heard about devils dropping treasures after they were defeated.
The moment he did this, he did not hold back this time around. Instead, he went to a corner, created seals protect himself as much as possible and then sat in a lotus position.
Slowly, he absorbed the core and the memories that it provided him. Unfortunately, absorbing cores do not act on his soul. If he wanted to increase his soul Level, then it had to be from a soul beast or at least from a jin, a creature that had both soul power and corrupted holy power.
Nevertheless, power was power. Any form of it should not be ignored or underestimated and Lenny was going to absorb it all. As much as he could.
The core of the Devil Boss he had just taken in also came with knowledge and of course a fraction of law. However, on absorbing it, Lenny noticed that something was different with this time around.
This fraction with the others seemed to attract one another. It was like he was place parts of a missing puzzle together and the closer he looked at the pieces, the more sense it made to him.
Comphrending laws was no easy feat. After all, these things were the foundation of creation at a fundamentally large scale.
this was entirely different from understanding runes.
It was like having to understand a single cell, and then the entire digestive system of a person.
In this scenario, runes were the Cells and then laws were the entire digestive system.
A system contained organs with different functions and therefore, unique cells of a part to perform a function. This was the same thing with runes and laws.
These fragment of a law were like looking at organs and how they fit in the entire system.
However, a lot of parts were obviously missing.
Lenny tried as much as possible to comprehend what he could. After all, this was only one law in the millions of laws out there in the cosmos.
The more he comprehended, the more his cognitive factor grew. Even though his soul level did not increase, the gain for him was still obvious.
What lenny did not know was that they was no way any other person who was the Demon Great realm could do what he was doing.
Those that had Arcane Pillars or any kind of arcane formation in this stage had it as a result of cheating through their bloodlines.
In fact, unless those that had deeply studied it, most of them that used it did not even know how the law formation worked. All they knew how to do was tap into their bloodline and bring out the technique.
lenny sighed at the thought of how annoying it was to absorb this fraction of a law. And so time passed steadily. Soon, a couple more days had passed, and Lenny had also increased in Demon rank.
<Congratulations Host, You are now a Rank 6 Great Demon>
<Congratulation Host, Rune Carver rank has been promoted>
<Rune carver: Apostle>
<Congratulations Host, you have comprehended a law fraction>
Slowly, Lenny opened his eyes. just like any time after his growth, the world suddenly felt foreign to him. Except this time around, the details were almost frightening.
He could almost see the world in the pixels that made it up. the cuts and curves of it were so much clearer.
So clearer that he could almost see the wind move in fractioned cuts, like blocks of ice before his eyes. It no longer looked or felt as smooth as it used to be.
In fact, he could tell that if he grew into the greater Demon stage, he might even be able to see how each molecule of gases formed and mixed to create air.
This was an incredibly amazing feeling to experience.
Slowly, Lenny stood to his feet. He staggard a bit to the left and then to the right. he felt a bit heavy, but when he attempted jumping, he was as light as a feather.
He stretched, flexing his muscles and joints, cracking them as he took deep breathes.
His arm that had been eaten had also healed up.
He chuckled, "That was not bad." He told himself. However, he suddenly saw an alert by the Satan system.
<2 days 5 hours 3mins and 40 seconds to System Upgrade>
Instantly, he remembered the Azure festival. He needed to stabilize his soul strength properly at the Yellow level if not he would not be allowed to participate in the competition.
And the reward for that competition could potentially allow him to raise his soul level to that of Blue which would allow his soul heal itself and restore his memories.
lenny checked his soul. It was still sealed with the seals he had put in place, but because of the purple poison, it was flickering between yellow and green.
This was not good at all.
Of course, he could still attend the competition like this, but that was practically a suicide attempt.
After all, 90 percent of the population on this semi-plane depended more on using soul power than any thing else. Which meant that a big part of the competition if not half of it would involve the Before Truth.
And he was weak in that state.
Only his fight with Nana, user of the hunting system had thought him very valuable lessons.
lenny sighed. he really needed to get his soul level up. Kanada of the Shadow Brotherhood had told him that he could improve his soul level in this dungeon, but up till this moment, that had not been possible.
lenny was starting to think that it was a better risk for him to attack one of the citadels of the Asmodeus family for what he wanted.
Nevertheless, he had started here, and there was no going back now.
Lenny waved his hands and the seals surrounding him were dissolved.
However, the moment he took a step out, the first thing he saw made him pause. It was none other than....
