Chapter 987: The Empty Headed She Devil
Chapter 987: The Empty Headed She Devil
Lenny waved his hands, and the seals surrounding him dissolved into nothingness. However, the moment he took a step out, the sight before him made him pause. It was none other than the She-Devil who had been relentlessly pursuing him. Her presence had been so silent that he hadn’t even felt her nearby.
Lenny did not panic, nor did he take a step back. Aside from the initial surprise, he remained calm and walked forward, his expression a mix of irritation and curiosity.
"Lady, there must be something fundamentally weird with you. But do you know what I think? It’s either you are stalking me because you love me, or because..."
*BOOM!*
A blow from her fist, faster than lightning, narrowly missed his head as he dodged backward. The force of her punch was so immense that it blasted several tunnels away, creating a brand-new one in the cavernous expanse.
The fight began in earnest. The She-Devil lunged at him with a flurry of punches, each one capable of turning a tank to mush. Lenny dodged and weaved, his movements fluid and precise.
He could feel the holy power surging through his veins, wrapping around his body like a protective aura. With each motion, his power glowed brighter, illuminating the dark surroundings.
She aimed a powerful uppercut at his chin, but Lenny leaned back just in time, feeling the wind of her fist graze his face. He countered with a swift roundhouse kick, aiming for her ribs. She blocked it effortlessly, her arm a solid wall of muscle and bone.
Their exchange grew more intense. Lenny executed a bicycle kick, his legs moving in a blur. She deflected one kick but was forced to step back to avoid the second. Undeterred, she swung her leg in a low sweep, attempting to knock Lenny off his feet. He jumped, flipping in mid-air, and landed a few feet away, ready for the next assault.
The She-Devil’s eyes narrowed in surprise. Lenny’s agility and the holy power shielding him were unexpected. Obviously, he had gotten stronger and she could feel it. But this only excited her even more.
She clenched her fists, her knuckles cracking ominously, and charged again.
Lenny met her with a barrage of punches, each one infused with his holy power. His fists glowed with a radiant light, striking with precision and force.
She blocked and parried, her brute strength allowing her to withstand blows that would have shattered bones. She retaliated with a series of rapid punches, driving Lenny backward with the sheer power of her onslaught.
She grabbed his arm in a complex grapple, twisting to throw him over her shoulder. Lenny twisted mid-air, landing on his feet and countering with an elbow strike to her side. She grunted, the force of his blow making her stagger momentarily.
Their movements became a deadly dance, each move countered by the other. The ground beneath them trembled with the impact of their blows. Lenny’s holy power and her brute force collided, sending shockwaves through the tunnels.
Despite his best efforts, Lenny began to notice a troubling pattern. Each of her attacks was pushing him back, bit by bit. Her raw power was relentless, a tidal wave of destruction. His holy power shielded him, but it couldn’t completely negate the force behind her strikes.
She smirked, sensing his realization. "What’s the matter, human? Feeling the pressure?" she taunted, her voice a low growl.
Lenny’s eyes narrowed. He couldn’t afford to be pushed back any further. Summoning all his strength, he unleashed a powerful burst of holy energy, momentarily blinding her. He used the brief opening to land a solid punch to her gut, followed by a spinning kick to her chest. She stumbled but recovered quickly, her expression now one of fierce determination.
The fight continued, each of them pushing their limits. Lenny knew he had to find a way to break through her defenses, to counter the overwhelming brute force with a strategy that would turn the tide in his favor. As the She-Devil lunged at him again, he braced himself for the next exchange, his mind racing with possibilities. The battle was far from over, and he would not go down without a fight.
It was at this point that Lenny realized something very important. Since he began this fight, this She-Devil had not used chaos magic of any kind. In fact, he could not even feel a trace of magic in her. He somersaulted back, landing on the side of a wall, and called out, "All the others used their semi-arcane domains. But not you. You can’t use one, can you?"
She smirked, a dangerous glint in her eyes. "I don’t need one. After all, there is no magic in the world that cannot truly be broken by brute force." Once more, she attacked, her fists a blur of raw power. However, Lenny took steps back again, dodging her blows effectively.
Lenny gave a knowing smirk. "Quick question. You are a Devil, but incapable of producing magic, right?"
She nodded, her expression unwavering. "Like I said, I don’t need it. Never needed it, and never will."
A realization then hit Lenny. "Then doesn’t that mean there is no need for us to fight? After all, even if you feed on me, you will not be able to use my holy power. It will be useless to you."
Her advance paused for a moment, her eyes narrowing as she considered his words. "What are you getting at, human?" she growled, her fists still clenched.
Lenny maintained his stance, his mind racing. "Think about it. You’re a Devil who relies solely on brute strength. My holy power is fundamentally opposed to your nature. If you were to absorb it, it would be like poison to you on normal occasions, but lets say it works, you will still be unable to use it."
Her expression faltered, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her features. "You think you can trick me with words?" she spat, though there was a hint of doubt in her voice.
Lenny took a cautious step forward, maintaining eye contact. "It’s not a trick. You’ve already proven your strength. You don’t need to prove anything to me or anyone else. But this fight is pointless. If you continue, you risk not only defeating me but destroying yourself in the process."
She glared at him, her eyes filled with suspicion and anger. But Lenny could see the gears turning in her mind, the realization that his words held a kernel of truth. She was strong, incredibly so, but the very nature of her power clashed with his.
"Stop trying to manipulate me," she hissed, though her attacks had ceased, her body language shifting from aggression to contemplation.
Lenny lowered his fists slightly, showing he wasn’t intending to continue the fight unless necessary. "I’m not manipulating you. I’m stating a fact. We truly do not need to fight. You know, now that I think of it..." Lenny frowned. "you don’t even have a core do you?"
