Chapter 254: Oh…It Wasn’t Kidding…This Is Going To Take A While

As Aoni was completely immersed in the ocean of information surging into his mind with each upgrade of his new passive, some distance away, Anthony was still struggling to collect himself even though it had been more than 30 minutes since the mysterious pressure had disappeared.

His mind, just like his body, was in complete disarray. Contrary to what usually happened with Aoni and his summons when subjected to the pressure, Ant wasn't nearly so lucky as to get off with a few sore muscles and a lot of sweat.

For him, it felt as if he were staring death in the face; a crippling realization brought about by something out of his scope of understanding was bearing down on his body from every angle. Although he was able to escape the descent within a few seconds, it took a toll on his mind and body.

Bones were cracked, muscles torn, nerve endings lit ablaze with pain, and blood seeped from his eyes and ears; it was a horrifying experience that concluded in less time than it took to blink.

Luckily, Glacia had been right there, so when the haggard and broken Anthony clawed his path away from the pressure, she sprang into action, rubbing a multitude of pastes, salves, and other medicinal supplements given to her by Aoni in case of emergencies, then finished it with a gentle face pat.

Surprisingly enough, Ant didn't pass out and was shocked to find how effective the treatment received from the floof was…but then again, it wasn't like he was a Warrior or physical fighter, so his body was probably the least robust thing you could imagine.

Unlike Aoni, whose entire existence had been tempered time and time again, resulting in every one of his stats being beefed up, Ant had a measly D- Attack Stat and E+ Defense Stat, compared to his high Energia Stat.

Then again, it was thanks to this fact that the medications and natural ointments used by Glacia on him worked in the first place.

"G…Glacia…he said this happens often?" Still shaken to his core by the sight of his baby brother tanking the pressure as if it didn't exist, Anthony looked over at the floof.

"Gao…"

"I see…"

"OoO…"

*pat pat*

"Can you stop doing that, please?" Sighing as his cheek was patted for the third time in a row by Glacia, Anthony finally found the strength to sit up and cycle his Energia to check for any lingering injuries.

Meanwhile, as Anthony was on the cusp of a mental breakdown, Aoni was sitting inches away from the Stone door, legs crossed and fully immersed in the surge of information imprinting itself into his mind and memory.

'Finally, damn, I had to push it all the way to E+ before I was even able to scratch the surface of how I am supposed to deal with the door.'

'It seems the boosts brought about by increasing the Stage of my passive stack up, in its base form, all It did was increase my perception of Energia, and gave a slight increase in my Energia Digestion.'

'Then, at G-Rank, the rate of absorption and Digestion more than doubled what was originally described, probably around 2 times what I could do without the passive, and it wasn't until F-Rank that I could start seeing a fundamental change.'

'It was here a new ability was unlocked, distribution, so not only can I draw in Energia extremely fast, but I can move it to something else; that's cool and all, but the REAL magic happened once Energia Siphon hit E+.' Slowly opening his eyes, Aoni's vision swam for a moment before locking in on his Traveler's Display.

'First things first, thanks to the knowledge I've received, I understand the difference between Pre-Established and Established; basically, the first is simply Ambient and naturally occurring Energia, whereas the second is Spent Energia, aka filtered power.'

'Ehhh now it makes sense why this passive was classified as a means to deal with the Door. Through it, I can essentially Siphon off all the Energia used to form and control the formation, and without a power source, it will collapse, leaving a useless stone door behind.'

'Tsk,' clicking his tongue and rolling his eyes, Aoni slowly got to his feet and stretched out his sore body.

"Hold up, why am I sore?" Rolling his shoulders and checking himself over, Aoni turned around and found Ant covered in blood, lying against the stairs with Glacia beside him, her pack open, and several spent containers of hand-crafted medicines lying all over the place.

Before Aoni could inquire about the state of his brother, Glacia said something that caused his brain to seize up for a moment as he understood the meaning behind her weird naming sense.

{'I triggered the pressure again…damn, how's Anthony?'} Walking over and checking on his brother, who seemed to be meditating at the moment, Aoni asked even if he didn't need to, considering the trash littered around his floof.

{'He fine, I dids the thingys with the gooey stuff and feds him some fruitys, ALL BETTER!'}

{'You did great; that's another reward when we return for my goodest girl,'} Giving Glacia some attention for a few minutes and some more snacks, Aoni observed Ant for a bit before returning to sit in front of the Door.

'This isn't going to be an easy task…thanks to the gains from my Passive Knowledge, I can tell this isn't one but multiple formations linked together forming a network; not only that, but I feel traces of 6,7, and 8-Star Energia.'

'Meaning some impressive bastards created it, even so, it's still within the scope of my Siphon working…but it wasn't kidding…' Placing both hands against the cool stone door's surface, Aoni closed his eyes and FELT the Energia coursing through the millions of runes and Magic circles that build the formations.

'Sigh, this is going to take a while…ALL ENERGIA can be absorbed and used to further my Progress. That's the phrase on repeat in my head with each upgrade, so I know I can break it down, but the time it will take me to do so…oh well, better get started.'
