Chapter 255: Person-Shaped Mosquito

Chapter 255: Person-Shaped Mosquito

The instant Aoni's hands drew near the stone wall, an itching sensation spread across his palms, and if he didn't know any better, he would have assumed that two needle-like protrusions had burst through his palms before stabbing into the wall.

Sure enough, that was all in his head…right? It wasn't as if he had become one of the most hated insects to ever flap their annoying ass wings all over Terra….right…RIGHT?

'You are Aoni Thurston, not a Giant mosquito…you are human…wait…that isn't true anymore…NOOO!' Allowing his mind to run wild as if his intelligence had left the building along with his single remaining brain cell, the lad's body trembled as he felt something akin to lava brushing against his palms in a gulping rhythm.

'Ahh AH HOT HOT!' He cried internally while swallowing a mouth full of saliva and focusing on the task at hand.

Before you get any strange ideas, all of this was a figment of Aoni's imagination, a construct not unlike what he did when manifesting attacks, only instead of well… launching a bullet or spear of ice, he was instead draining or siphoning the Energia directly from the Linked chain of formations.

To some extent, Aoni had subconsciously related his Energia Manipulation to that of his new passive, and sure enough, it worked like a charm…if said charm was the same as shoving your hands into burning lava and allowing it to integrate with your blood, that is.

'Okay, let's focus here, enough loose thoughts, Grade-6 energia first; just because I CAN siphon off higher Grade Energia doesn't mean I should immediately do so, Oi, stupid chat box, I am relying on you for instructions here.'

All the knowledge necessary for this procedure has already been implanted into the Host's mind

'…'

…

Staring intently at the floating ethereal chat box, Aoni entered a strange contest of wills with his Attribute Notice, one that, to anyone else, would seem nonsensical due to it being no different from glaring at a computer screen.

'Do better,'

It has been observed that the Host is using their Unique Passive: Energia Siphon

Grade-6 Energia has been located

Grade-6 Energia is now filtrating into ¿?¿?¿?¿ ?¿?¿ ?¿?¿

'See, now, was that so hard? Although I don't appreciate the question mark spam there, it's fine…anyway, there's no way you don't understand by now that I quite appreciate checkpoints and lists. COUGH, if only I had a special tracker bar that would let me know how far away I am from my first objective.' Tilting his nose to the sky, Aoni thought smugly while watching the words drift up on the chat box before being replaced with new ones.

…

'…'

*STARRRRRRREEEEE*

…

Goal: 1%

Goal: 2%

'Atta boi now was that so difficult?' Having an intrinsic understanding of the inner workings of his new passive, Aoni was well aware of its full capabilities at E+ Rank and, as such, had set a few goals for himself.

Like promised when he'd been given the two options, this method, although slow, would, WITHOUT A DOUBT, be quite the boon for Aoni, considering it would, in a sense, fix one of his biggest problems.

And it all comes back to the difference between pre-established and established Energia. For the most part, in the case of pre-established, aka Ambient Energia, the only use for it was Rapid replenishment of his EC, in turn, if he so wished, transforming him into a Spell-slinging turret with theoretical infinite Energia Reserves.

Mind you, like with anything, there are always some restrictions, such as the Elementalization Content of said Energia and whatnot, but here, in his territory, it wouldn't be a stretch to say he could fire off exceptionally powerful attacks like the bullet that blasted on for miles.

On Terra, it would be utterly useless offensively because Aoni would need to go through the step of Elementalizing the incoming Energia, and with how thin the Ambient resource was on his home world, it wouldn't be useful in battle.

However, that all changed when his new passive reached F-Rank; at that point, the designation between the Two Energia Types was revealed, allowing Aoni to draw in power from items, spells, structures, constructs, natural or created. Basically, if it wasn't Ambient and had a signature, Aoni could go all mosquito on it.

Which was cool and all, but at F-Rank, he was still limited…that is, until he reached E+, and the true nature of his Energia Passive unlocked.

Now, he was given the means to USE all that Energia he stole from Established Energia Sources.

Breaking Limits.

More specifically the naturally imposed limits of his Passives...things like Stats and his Attribute, were questionable for the moment but in a sense he now had a tool that would allow him to execute what had happened to him with his Energia Stat long ago, mind you, it was only by one Rank or Grade, but even then, this was an astronomical boon for Aoni.

Not only because it would allow him to bypass the natural order of the Grade to Rank Ratio, but in the case of Passives like his swordsmanship or Energia Manipulation, which had pre-requisites, he was no longer bound by them so long as what he siphoned off was at a certain Grade.

The golden rule was that it had to be, at the minimum, equal to 2 Grades/Ranks higher than what he was trying to push up.

For example, if Aoni wanted to say Break the Limits imposed on his Energia Stat, which was presently a D-, he would need Grade-6 Energia, C: Grade-7, and B: Grade-8…etc.

** For Comparison Sake Rank to Grade Scale**

G = 1-Star

F = 2-Stars

E = 3-Stars

D = 4-Stars

C = 5-Stars

B = 6-Stars

A = 7-Stars

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that so long as Aoni had insane resources on hand, it would be entirely possible for him to straight up bypass all the limits he'd ever come across, then use Progress Points to push them up to the bottleneck and break through again, and again.

Basically, his new passive could be considered an unlimited path to power…so long as he had resources to burn.
