Chapter 24 - 24 24 Ill Help You Remember

?Chapter 24: Chapter 24 I’ll Help You Remember Chapter 24: Chapter 24 I’ll Help You Remember Quite a male chauvinist, he didn’t care much about her thoughts and simply laid out his own attitude.

“I’m fairly satisfied with your looks, I want two children, preferably a boy. I’ve been abroad for a long time and have a preference for Western food…”

Lu Jingyan rolled her eyes internally, not even interested in replying.

With a mindset of completing a mission, Lu Jingyan sat silently across from him, listening to him speak.

She thought that he would feel the awkward atmosphere after a while and stop talking, but contrary to her expectations, he became more and more excited, nearly lulling Lu Jingyan to sleep.

Unable to help herself, Lu Jingyan yawned, raised her hand to press down the tears welling up at the corners of her eyes, and checked the time on her phone.

In the lock screen notifications, there were several alerts from Emotion.

It was still that account with all the gibberish.

“Lu Jingyan, I’m here again.”

“I’ve discovered that sending you messages from behind a keyboard is also quite enjoyable.”

“Lu Jingyan, so many years have gone by, do you still remember the past? Do you want me to help you recall?”

“There’s an abandoned car repair factory behind the school.”

Lu Jingyan abruptly stood up.

The gentleman across from her, who was in the midst of an enthusiastic conversation, paused and looked up at her, “Miss Lu?”

Lu Jingyan barely gathered her thoughts, “I… need to go to the restroom.”

After saying that, she quickly walked out of the private room with her phone in hand.

She rushed into the restroom, randomly pushed open a door, locked it, then leaned against the door and gasped for breath.

Her whole body was shaking.

Her hands could barely hold the phone.

After standing for quite some time, she eventually turned her eyes to her phone, pursed her lips, and with great effort raised it in front of her face, unlocked the screen, and logged into Emotion.

Even though she had already read the messages once, looking at them a second time still caused her breathing to become rapid and unsteady.

She swallowed and, with trembling fingers, typed: “Who are you?”

“Who the hell are you?”

Just like last time, the person didn’t reply to her messages.

Lu Jingyan, leaning against the door, slowly slid down to sit on the ground, buried her head in her knees, hugged her legs, and zoned out for a long time. It was only when her legs began to numb, she pushed herself up using the wall and slowly stood up.

Back in the private room, the gentleman arranged for her by Lu Hongcheng had already left.

The waiter mentioned that the gentleman left in a huff, very dissatisfied with her.

Lu Jingyan didn’t care much about how the other party felt; she nodded expressionlessly, grabbed her bag preparing to leave, when the waiter called out to her again.

She turned her head.

The waiter held out the menu: “Miss, you haven’t settled the bill yet.”

Lu Jingyan: “…”

After paying the bill and leaving the restaurant, Lu Jingyan sat in her car for about ten minutes. Not receiving a scolding call from Lu Hongcheng as she had in the past, she started the car and drove towards home.

Having arrived home, Lu Jingyan parked her car in the basement and took the elevator upstairs.

As the elevator doors opened, Lu Jingyan expected to see Aunt Sun, but instead saw Lu Hongcheng sitting in the living room watching TV.

Lu Hongcheng’s face was gloomy, and he looked unwell.

It seemed this time she really crossed his line; he didn’t call her as he usually would, but rather came straight home.

Lu Jingyan stood in the elevator for two seconds before stepping out: “Uncle.”

Lu Hongcheng didn’t speak, turned off the TV with the remote, and then lifted his head to look at her: “Lu Jingyan, you’re becoming more and more disrespectful. It’s one thing for you to play and be willful usually, but what about today? Don’t you realize what you did? You just left Mr. Yang in the restaurant without a word.”

“Did the Lu Family raise you like this from a young age? When did you become so rude? Remember, whatever you do, you’re not just losing face for yourself but for the entire Lu Family as well.”

“Anyway, you will call Young Master Yang to apologize right now, in front of me.”

Lu Hongcheng was always like this, never bothering to ask her what happened before he started reprimanding her, then taking it upon himself to demand she apologize.

Lu Jingyan initially wanted to defend herself, but she didn’t want to anymore.

She just found it all so meaningless.

After all these years, from childhood to adulthood, no one had truly cared about how she made it to this day.

Lu Hongcheng was genuinely angry, seeing that she didn’t move, his face sank as he said, “I told you to make a call and apologize!”

Lu Jingyan didn’t react.

Lu Hongcheng stood up, as if he was really enraged and raised his hand.

Aunt Sun, hiding in the dining room, hurried out upon seeing this, “Mr. Lu, let’s talk this over calmly.”

Lu Hongcheng paused and lowered his hand. Looking at Lu Jingyan standing before him, he grew even angrier, raised his finger at her and said, “Don’t forget that everything you have now was given to you by the Lu Family. The Lu Family doesn’t support useless people. If you continue like this, get out of the Lu Family.”

“Also, about Young Master Yang’s call, you might not do it now, but one of these days, I’m going to invite Young Master Yang out, and you will apologize to him in front of me.”

After venting his anger, Lu Hongcheng didn’t even go upstairs but just picked up his coat and left.

Only then did Aunt Sun come over, “Miss Lu, just apologize and stop always making Mr. Lu angry.”

See, one by one, they all told her to apologize.

Lu Jingyan chuckled lightly with her head down, not saying a word, and went straight upstairs.

Once she had closed the door, she threw her bag aside and lay down on the floor.

She stared at the ceiling, her expression gradually becoming blank.

After lying there for about an hour, having not really eaten dinner, Lu Jingyan began to feel hungry. She didn’t feel like going downstairs to ask Aunt Sun to make something to eat, so after thinking it over, she just went out and drove off.

Once she was out, she lost her appetite again, but she didn’t want to go home either, so she just drove around aimlessly.

As she drove, she found herself near the school.

It was almost eleven o’clock, and the lights in the school’s study room were still on, with people coming in and out of the school gates now and then.

Why had she come here?

Sheng Xian would have left school by now.

Lu Jingyan didn’t know where else to go, so she simply turned off the car engine and parked by the roadside.

Whenever she felt miserable, she really wanted to smoke and drink.

But when she actually found a cigarette in the car, she threw it right back again.

She adjusted the car seat backward and reclined in the car, staring at the starry car roof, and started to space out again.

She didn’t know how long she had been lying there when the lights of the distant study room started going off one by one, and the surroundings grew increasingly quiet.

Just as she was thinking about going home, someone suddenly knocked on her car window.

Indifferently, she lowered the window and saw a black overcoat.

She asked, “Yes?”

The person standing outside didn’t speak.

She adjusted her seat and poked her head out to get a better look, “May I help…”

Before she could finish speaking, she was staring at the person outside, stunned.

Holy shit! Seen a ghost!

PS: Professor Sheng: There’s no ghost as handsome as I am.
