?Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Is Two Hours Enough? Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Is Two Hours Enough? She tilted the seat back up and stuck her head out to ask, “Excuse me…”

She hadn’t finished her sentence when she froze, staring at the person standing outside.

Fuck! Seeing a ghost!

She pulled her head back in, rubbed her eyes, and then stuck her head out again.

Sheng Xian observed the schoolgirl sticking her head in and out of the car window with drooped eyelids. After a two-second silence, he asked, “What are you doing here in the middle of the night?”

Lu Jingyan was still a bit dazed and blurted out without thinking, “These days, even ghosts can talk?”

Sheng Xian: “…”

After saying that, Lu Jingyan realized what she had said. She blinked at Sheng Xian, who was standing by the roadside, “Being able to talk is one thing, but being so damn handsome while doing it is another.”

“…”

Sheng Xian really had a good temperament, completely unfazed by Lu Jingyan’s nonsensical gibberish.

His hands were in his pockets as he looked down at her with an expressionless face and repeated his earlier question, “Why are you here?”

Lu Jingyan slowly uttered an “ah,” somewhat at a loss for how to continue the conversation.

She had not anticipated bumping into him, nor was she here for him.

She was adept at dealing with men, able to conjure up a bunch of lies without even thinking.

Like now, she could easily say: “I missed brother and didn’t know where to find him, so I thought I’d wait here.”

But she didn’t want to lie to him.

Lu Jingyan opened her mouth, “Just wandering around, and ended up here.”

Before Sheng Xian could say anything, Lu Jingyan asked again, “What about you? Why are you still at school so late?”

Sheng Xian: “Had some discussions with a student.”

Lu Jingyan, who was quite tactful, didn’t probe into what the discussions were about, “Get in the car.”

Sheng Xian was taken aback by her sudden change of subject, “Hmm?”

Lu Jingyan: “Isn’t your car off the road today? I’ll drive you home.”

Before Sheng Xian could ask how she knew his car was restricted today, Lu Jingyan looked at him with a smile and added, “It’s not just the license plate number I’ve memorized, I even know your phone number by heart.”

She looked quite proud of herself.

Like a kid who had completed homework, eagerly awaiting praise from a parent at home.

Sheng Xian glanced at her for two seconds, suddenly feeling the urge to laugh.

He turned his head aside, cleared his throat, suppressed the smile, and with a stoic face, circled the front of the car to get in.

The school was very close to Sheng Xian’s home. Without traffic at night, it took just about ten minutes to get there.

Lu Jingyan hit the brakes, slowly pulling up to the curb.

Sheng Xian unbuckled his seatbelt, “Thank you.”

Lu Jingyan turned her head to look at Sheng Xian with a smile, “Brother, as I have said, I don’t like verbal thanks. If you really want to thank me…” she paused thoughtfully for two seconds, “then tell me the password to your door lock.”

Sheng Xian: “…”

“Not willing, huh? Well, that’s alright, I won’t impose. You can take me back to your place instead.” Lu Jingyan’s face read ‘I’m very reasonable’ as she leaned forward, getting closer to Sheng Xian’s face, seemingly pondering something. After two seconds, she whispered softly, “Brother, is two hours enough?”

Sheng Xian: “…”

Sheng Xian: “…”

Sheng Xian: “……”

He realized this schoolgirl was really audacious.

She dared to say anything.

Sheng Xian silently leaned back in his seat for a few seconds before reaching for the car door handle.

His fingers had barely touched the handle when Lu Jingyan locked the door with a click.

Sheng Xian’s eyebrows furrowed, turning to look at Lu Jingyan.

Before he could speak, Lu Jingyan preempted, “Let’s exchange five minutes of your time for the car fare, shall we?”

Lu Jingyan reclined back into the driver’s seat, pulling out her phone and setting the timer, “Just five minutes.”

“Stay with me for another five minutes, and then I’ll let you get out of the car.”

Sheng Xian stared at her for five seconds, then withdrew his hand from the door handle.

Lu Jingyan remained silent, leaning on the steering wheel with her eyes closed.

Sheng Xian was never much for words, to begin with.

The car was very quiet.

Just the ticking of the timer sounded.

Sheng Xian stared straight ahead for a while before his gaze drifted to her face.

Her skin was pale, her dense lashes like little fans, her nose bridge prominent, and the slightly upturned tip added just the right amount of beauty.

Sheng Xian couldn’t help but look at her a bit longer before turning his gaze to the window on his side.

The five minutes quickly passed, and the timer sounded its alert.

Lu Jingyan opened her eyes and unlocked the doors, “Brother, goodbye.”

Sheng Xian replied with a muted “Hmm,” as he pushed open the door.

As he stood on the ground closing the door, he glanced back into the car.

She sat hugged around the steering wheel, tilting her head and smilingly waved at him, “Brother, good night.”

Sheng Xian didn’t speak, but his mind wandered to what she had said earlier, “Stay with me a little longer, just five more minutes.”

Suddenly his heart began to stir in a strange way; he looked at her for a moment and hesitated before asking, “Hungry?”
