Chapter 40 - 40 40 Acting in a TV Drama
?Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Acting in a TV Drama Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Acting in a TV Drama The woman in the man’s arms lifted her head, “Who is this?”
The man said, “My colleague.”
The woman with glasses heard these three words and looked at him in disbelief for a long time, tears streaming down her face, “What did you say?”
“Aren’t you my colleague?” he retorted, leaving the woman at a loss for words.
Clearly not wanting to cause a scene in front of his friends, he whispered soothingly to the woman in his arms, then stood up and said to the woman with glasses, “Let’s go outside to talk if you have anything to say.”
The woman stood still in her place.
The man impatiently said, “Well, do you want to talk or not? If not, just leave.”
The woman bit her lip and followed the man outside.
Lu Jingyan watched the two leave the bar and turn left out of sight before taking his eyes off them.
He picked up his glass, leisurely finished the remaining bit of his drink, then took two banknotes out of his bag to place under the glass before getting up and leaving the bar.
There was a small alley to the left of the bar with hardly any lights in it.
With the help of the light reflecting in from the main road, Lu Jingyan could see the two people standing inside.
The man said with a nasty tone, “Stop making a fuss, did I ever say you were my girlfriend?”
The woman sobbed quietly, “But that night, you, you also…”
“Also what? Also slept with you? Didn’t you also not refuse?”
“But you said you liked…”
The man laughed, “You believe that? I say I like whoever I sleep with, call them ‘baby.’ It’s just to set the mood, what else would it be? To do it without saying a word, just dryly get on with it? Besides, you enjoyed it too, didn’t you? I remember you were pretty thrilled…”
The woman, apparently not expecting the man to say such things, didn’t know how to respond.
“Frankly speaking, if you hadn’t made a scene at the bar today and just kept things casual with me, just meeting up with nothing serious, I would still be willing to treat you well, but now…” he shrugged his shoulders, “it seems there’s no need for that anymore. Besides, dating you is quite charmless, spending so much time teaching you and you learn nothing, it’s quite dull…”
The woman couldn’t listen any longer and ran off.
Lu Jingyan watched her running aimlessly ahead while wiping her tears, his face expressionless.
In the past, he would have joined that man in the bar, found the right opportunity to drop the man a hint, and then somehow get his contact information.
For someone who cheats innocent young girls of their feelings and their bodies, he never used to hold back in giving them a taste of their own medicine.
But today, he hesitated.
He didn’t want to waste time on such people.
He felt it wasn’t worth it.
He wanted to deal them a swift blow.
Lu Jingyan watched the man walk out of the alley and pass by him before he called out to him, “Hey.”
The man paused and turned around. Seeing Lu Jingyan’s face, a flash of amazement crossed his eyes. He stood stunned for a second before asking, “Can I help you with something?”
Lu Jingyan waved the man over and then, biting the elastic band around her wrist, carelessly tied up her hair.
The man approached, “What’s up?”
Lu Jingyan put her hair up, secured it with the elastic band, lifted her eyelids to glance at the man, said nothing, grabbed his hair, pushed his head down, and with a leg raised, she brutally smashed her knee into his nose.
Five minutes later.
Lu Jingyan pulled the elastic band from her hair, shook her hair out and without so much as a glance at the man, who was curled up on the cold ground, clutching his groin, unable to even crawl, she walked straight to the roadside.
She was someone with a sharp mind.
Right now, taking advantage of the fact that the man hadn’t reacted, it was time for her to leave quickly.
If he came to his senses and called the police later, she certainly wouldn’t avoid being taken away by the police to make a statement, which would definitely alarm Lu Hongcheng.
Just thinking about that scene was irritating.
With no taxis passing by on the road and not knowing how long it would take to hail a ride via her phone, Lu Jingyan glanced around and just happened to spot a black car with its hazard lights on, parked at the curbside.
It looked as though it was about to leave.
She jogged over, opened the rear door, and without a word, dove in, “Brother, please take me for a ride, just drop me off at the next intersection is fine.”
The person in the driver’s seat didn’t react.
Lu Jingyan dug out a bill from her bag and passed it forward, “This is for your drink, thank you.”
The person in front didn’t take it.
Lu Jingyan pushed the money forward a bit more, just as she was about to add a few more flattering words, the man in the driver’s seat turned around.
Lu Jingyan: “…”
The man’s eyelids fluttered, meeting her eyes.
Lu Jingyan: “…”
Fuck.
Is this a TV drama?
How could it be such a coincidence that it’s his car?
Lu Jingyan stared at Sheng Xian, unsure whether she should get out of the car or urge him to keep going.
The car was quiet for about four or five seconds.
Sheng Xian slowly averted his gaze and stepped on the accelerator.
PS: Posted an exquisitely beautiful profile of Lu Jingyan on Weibo, hehe~
