?Chapter 187: Chapter 188: Adding Troubles (3)_1 Chapter 187: Chapter 188: Adding Troubles (3)_1 Liang Chen stared at the ceiling, silent, eyes shut, taking a deep breath. Perhaps, because it was too hurried, it choked him, causing him to cough harshly a few times.

Eventually, he suppressed his cough, straightened up, looked at Cong Rong, and said, “Don’t tell her about this. She still doesn’t know.”

After a pause, Liang Chen continued, “And don’t tell anyone else. It’ll only cause unnecessary commotion. In the end, if she’s the last one to know, it will upset her. I don’t want her to feel that way.”

Liang Chen called the waiter to pay the bill and stood up: “It’s getting late. She has been waiting for me downstairs for quite a while, I should leave now.”

As Liang Chen walked out of Drunken Fairy Building, he immediately spotted Jing Haohao standing by the roadside.

The woman, leaning on a street light, gazed quietly at the cars passing by as if lost in thought. So engrossed she did not even notice his approach.

“What are you thinking about?” Liang Chen stood next to her, took out his car keys from his pocket, and started the car.

Jing Haohao heard Liang Chen’s voice and involuntarily stepped back, she then turned her head to look at him.

He saw the distance she created, his eyebrows knitted slightly. A hint of displeasure flashed in his heart, but it was quickly suppressed. He walked to the car and opened the door, “It’s a bit chilly, get in the car.”

Jing Haohao didn’t respond, she didn’t even glance at Liang Chen – she just got into the car, buckled her seat belt, and seemed to be keeping to herself.

Once Liang Chen got in the car, she turned her head towards the car window, leaving only the back of her head visible to Liang Chen.

All along, he had thought of this delicate little woman as being harmless. Although she had no money or power like him and was somewhat trapped by circumstances, she could still affect him with seemingly insignificant gestures.

In the past, he would have been angry. Who dares to ignore him? But now he finds that he’s been suppressing his temper more when dealing with her.

Liang Chen took a deep breath, slowly started the car, and drove away with Jing Haohao.

All the way, they hardly spoke to each other.

In the past, interactions between Jing Haohao and Liang Chen were not frequent, but for some reason, he didn’t like her silent treatment, especially after returning from her hometown.

Moreover, he could see that she seemed unhappy.

Was it because of what Cong Rong had said?

As they were passing by a mall, Liang Chen thought for a moment, then skillfully turned the steering wheel and drove into the mall’s underground parking lot.

He had never pursued any woman, nor did he understand women well. But he had seen how his sisters-in-law and cousins brightened up after shopping sprees, chattering happily in the living room. Would shopping elevate Jing Haohao’s mood too?

It wasn’t until Liang Chen took Jing Haohao to the mall that he realized how many of his “firsts” involved Jing Haohao.

The first time making love.

The first time noticing a woman.

The first time taking a woman shopping.

The first time trying to cheer a woman up.

He was breaking so many of his own principles, subconsciously, for this woman called Jing Haohao.
