?Chapter 601: Chapter 602 – Love Blooms (4)_1 Chapter 601: Chapter 602 – Love Blooms (4)_1 Jing Haohao took a photo of her wrist with the mobile phone, then sent it to Liang Chen, adding two characters below it: Thank you.
…
Liang Chen drove the car, waiting for the red light to turn green to cross the Ring City River Bridge, when suddenly the mobile phone on the passenger seat dinged.
Who would be contacting him at this hour?
Liang Chen turned his head slightly and saw it was a multimedia message. While watching the red light ahead, he casually unlocked the phone. The first thing he saw was a slender, fair arm, adorned with the familiar Buddha Beads.
Liang Chen stared at the picture, smiled, and saw the red light turn green. Yet, he did not rush to drive but typed out a message for Jing Haohao. He slowly accelerated and drove onto the Ring City River Bridge.
…
After Jing Haohao sent the message, she casually browsed the news. Her phone vibrated in her hand, she anticipatedly opened the message to see a text from Liang Chen: “It’s beautiful.”
Jing Haohao couldn’t help but curve her lips in a smile, then she didn’t know what to say next. But not replying left her feeling hollow. Jing Haohao bit her finger and rolled around on the bed, then she typed out a few characters on the keyboard and sent it over: “Are you home yet?”
Soon, Jing Haohao received a reply from Liang Chen: “Five minutes more.”
Jing Haohao replied with an “Oh,” and Liang Chen responded with an “Mm.”
Jing Haohao looked at the “Oh” and “Mm” on her phone screen and couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Then she watched as the time on her phone screen ticked past five minutes, and texted Liang Chen again: “Are you home yet?”
“Just arrived.”
Jing Haohao first received the two characters, she had not replied yet when a new message arrived: “Why aren’t you asleep? It’s already one o’clock.”
Was he signaling that he was going to rest with this message?
Jing Haohao felt a sense of unwillingness to part, she had the impulse to continue the chat. She hid the smile on her face and replied a bit gloomily: “I’m about to go to sleep, you should go to bed early too.”
…
Liang Chen took off his coat, texted Jing Haohao a “goodnight,” then took his phone into the bathroom.
Liang Chen placed his phone on the washstand, took off his clothes, and took a shower.
The sound of the water was rather loud, covering all other noises. Halfway through, Liang Chen, afraid he might miss a message from Jing Haohao, walked over to the washstand, picked up his phone and glanced at it. Seeing no reply, he went back and rinsed off.
Liang Chen dried off and walked out of the bathroom. He lay directly on the bed. The spot next to him was still empty. Turning his head, he could almost visualize her lying there as she had done years ago.
Liang Chen swallowed hard and picked up his phone, opening his chat with Jing Haohao. He looked over the few words they’d exchanged, never tired of them.
…
When Jing Haohao saw the “good night” from Liang Chen, she locked her phone screen, turned off the light, and lay down on the bed to go to sleep.
However, once she closed her eyes, she didn’t feel sleepy at all. All she could think about was what Liang Chen told her tonight at the revolving restaurant about his past.
Finally, Jing Haohao opened her eyes, picked up her phone, and looked at the messages she and Liang Chen had sent. They had only exchanged a few simple texts, but she found herself reading them over and over again.
