Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 490: Hide It

Chapter 490: Hide It

Metagross and Aggron were chatting quite enthusiastically, mostly about how to educate Kartana. Since the new recruit had a thorny personality, it was the big brothers’ job to smooth those thorns out.

The last thorny one was Doublade when it was still Honedge, but it had been completely tamed by Slowking.

But now, this thorny Kartana didn’t even show respect to Slowking. That really triggered a sense of rivalry in Metagross and Aggron.

'If Slowking can’t handle it, but we can, doesn’t that mean we’re better at management than you, Slow~king?'

Watching these two idiots digging their own graves, Julian immediately recalled Aggron into its Pokéball. 'That’s enough out of you two. Before you run your mouths, think about whether Slowking in the Pokéball can hear what you’re saying—'

'If you want to dig your own grave, fine, but don’t drag me down with you.'

He gently patted Slowking’s slightly shaking Pokéball and whispered, “Those two really are hopeless. Slowking, feel free to teach them a proper lesson later.”

“Metagross, take us to the Exit of the Secret Realm,” Julian said.

“Meta~”

Metagross nodded, completely unaware that it had already offended Slowking. Its four super brains were currently busy calculating how best to educate Kartana.

Those two trainers had traveled quite a bit throughout the day, and it took Metagross half a day to lead Julian and the others to a huge mountain.

This particular mountain was about 500 meters tall, with very few trees, and it looked rather barren, but the bare rocky surfaces were dotted with exposed tourmalines.

(T/N: Tourmaline is a crystalline silicate mineral group in which boron is compounded with elements such as aluminium, iron, magnesium, etc. This gemstone comes in a wide variety of colors.)

Some Pokémon were lying on these tourmaline rocks—Geodude, Graveler, and Golem—but their forms looked different from those in the outside world.

The Geodude, Graveler, and Golem here all had thick eyebrows, and their types were different too. Normally, Golem in the outside world was Rock and Ground type, but the ones here were Rock and Electric type.

Due to the different typing, their dietary needs were slightly different as well.

Julian and the others didn’t catch these Pokémon, since they already had plenty of similar Pokémon among the spoils from the two trainers.

Those exposed tourmalines on the ground could actually be sold for a good price in the outside world. They were a decent resource and could even be used as a source of electricity.

However, there was a limit to what they could carry out of the Secret Realm, and no one would choose to take a few rocks with them.

Julian did want to dig up the tourmaline though—while it couldn’t be Aggron’s main food, it would still make a good snack.

Unfortunately, with Pierce and the others around, he couldn’t store the rocks into his system space even if he did dig them up.

'Guess I’ll come back to dig them up another time.'

As Julian was thinking about all this, Metagross had already led them into a cave. Inside the cave, there were clear signs of fighting.

Most likely, those two trainers had driven out the wild Pokémon inside, so when Julian and the others entered the cave, they didn’t encounter any Pokémon.

“Who would’ve thought the Exit of this Secret Realm was hidden inside a cave?” Rowan sighed.

Right in front of them stood a three-meter-tall, three-meter-wide gate. As long as they walked through it, they would be able to leave this Secret Realm.

Even though the exit was three meters tall, Pokémon larger than that could still pass through. Even if the exit were only one meter tall, larger Pokémon could still leave just the same.

“We really ought to thank those two, but since they didn’t suffer much when they died, I’d say that repaid their kindness,” Ember said with a sweet smile.

The two trainers: "Thanks, I guess!!"

Top-tier Secret Realms were usually enormous, and since it was their first time inside, finding the exit was incredibly difficult.

And if the exit happened to be hidden in a cave, a tree hollow, or even in the sky, the difficulty of finding it would be even greater.

If you were unlucky, you might never find it for the rest of your life.

Fifty years ago, a Top-tier Secret Realm appeared in Gallia. Not a single trainer who entered came back, and everyone assumed they were dead. Gallia continued to send in more trainers afterward, but none of them returned either.

It wasn’t until five years later that a Trainer at the Elite-level finally walked out, and he had been one of the very first trainers Gallia had sent in.

At the time, Gallia had dispatched a hundred trainers, including more than a dozen at the Elite-level, and after five long years, only one of them came back.

According to that trainer, the reason no one could leave was simply that they couldn’t find the exit. They searched for five years, suffering casualties along the way due to all kinds of dangers.

Because they stayed in the Secret Realm for so long, they eventually ran out of medicine, and their injuries worsened over time, resulting in even more casualties.

If it hadn’t been for a chance encounter where he rescued a wild Onix, who then led him to the exit, he would’ve died inside.

The exit of that secret realm was actually hidden in an underground river.

An underground f***ing river! Who could a normal person even find that?

If not for that Onix, he would’ve either died due to some danger in that Secret Realm or be trapped in it for the rest of his life.

But of course, there’s a silver lining. After spending five years in a Top-tier Secret Realm, he gained a ton of resources and even obtained an Ultimate treasure.

With those gains, he became a Champion at the age of fifty.

Now he was over eighty and served as Gallia’s Guardian Deity.

Now that the exit of this top-tier Secret Realm was hidden inside a cave, it wasn’t exactly unacceptable—at the very least, it was much better than being hidden in an underground river.

Of course, cases like that were still extremely rare.

And now that they had located the exit, the heavy weight in the hearts of the five was finally lifted.

With a way out secured, they could now fully focus on exploring the Secret Realm.

After leaving the cave, Pierce turned to his Regirock and said, “Hide the cave.”

As the legendary titan of rock, Regirock’s control over Rock-type energy was near perfection. Under its manipulation, the cave completely disappeared.

Even the appearance of the entire mountain had changed to some extent.

Even if those two trainers weren’t dead and somehow came back, they most likely wouldn’t recognize the place.

“You can do that?”

Julian was impressed by Pierce’s sneaky maneuver and couldn’t help but give him a thumbs-up.

He honestly hadn’t thought of hiding the exit like this.

Now that it was concealed within the mountain, it was practically the same as being hidden in an underground river.

Unless someone had ungodly luck, nobody outside of their group would be able to find this exit—definitely not trainers from other countries.

“You all remember the exact location, right?” Pierce asked.

If he was the only one who remembered and something happened to him, the others would be really unlucky.

Julian nodded, his memory and sense of direction were both good, and besides, he had Metagross, a living supercomputer, right by his side.
