A massive explosion erupted from the direction of Happy House.
“The explosion came from Happy House!”
Philip stomped his feet anxiously as he saw townsfolk rushing toward the mansion. He turned to Ezra, shouting in alarm.

Ezra had assumed the man would just walk by, but instead, he stepped inside—casually loading a revolver as he did.
The man’s gaze swept across the police station, lingering on Ezra’s half-regenerated body. He cocked his head with an unreadable expression.
The man—who was carrying someone over his shoulder—raised his gun at Ezra and asked,
“Hey. Anyone else in here? Ah, never mind. You’re infected. You can’t talk.”
