The Male Leads Are Trapped in My House

Chapter 268

Chapter 268

It didn’t take me long to realize how the Duke of Lancaster had learned that I was a Springborne with abnormal strength.

As I was being dragged out of the interrogation chamber by Oscar and Monica, I happened to cross paths with Marquis Devonshire.

The marquis was being forcibly escorted by guards, his arms pinned to his sides. He was probably next in line for questioning.

"Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Sinclair?"

His face turned ghostly pale as if he’d just seen a ghost.

"What the hell? You’re alive?"

I had wondered why he had been absent from the capital, but it seemed he had managed to survive and flee to Westmore.

When I took a step closer to him, he let out a bloodcurdling scream.

"Aaargh! Please, spare me!"

What the hell? I hadn’t even done anything. I had barely taken a few steps toward him before stopping in sheer disbelief.

The way he reacted, one might think I had been beating him up regularly.

In any case, there was no room for conversation. I was immediately pulled forward into the interrogation room.

For a while, silence lingered. My earlier rage gradually settled.

After some time, Oscar spoke up.

"Princess Sinclair. Do you hit people?"

"I could slit the throat of someone who asks that kind of question."

"Savage. I like it. Just my type. Want to elope with me? If you step into that arena, you’ll die."

"I have no use for a useless pervert."

"A shame, really."

Oscar continued to scrutinize me with his ever-present smirk, as if he was admiring a rare specimen.

Monica, on the other hand, regarded him with disgust before turning to me.

"It was Marquis Devonshire who testified that you were in Benton. But since Oscar brought you from Brunel, an interrogation is inevitable."

She readily answered the very question I had been wondering about—without me even asking.

It almost seemed… generous.
