Mauve opened her eyes and noticed Jael was not in bed. She frowned, sitting upright immediately as she rubbed her eyes.

Even though she was already aware of her surroundings, it took her a couple of seconds for her brain to process it.

She wondered where he could have gone and just as she was about to get out of bed, the door to his room opened and he walked in.

"You're awake," he said and she nodded.

Mauve frowned as her eyes rested on him, he looked like he had rushed out. His hair was in disarray and it wasn't in its usual ponytail. Mauve thought it gave him a gruff roguish look.

"What?" He asked at her intense stare.

"I was just thinking you should let your hair down more often," she whispered.

He chuckled, the familiar sound teased at her ears. "That's my line," he replied and got closer, standing at the side of the bed as he stared down at her.

He was scarcely dressed and he looked like he had just thrown the first thing he had laid his hands on. His outfit consisted of his coat from last night and a pair of unfamiliar pants.

His chest was on full display and his pants were low enough to show the start of his V-cut. Mauve's eyes bulged as she stared at him.

"What now?" He asked as he took off the coat.
