The Cave Dwellers of the Yarran Continent are a species of humanoid creatures unique to caves.

Cave Dwellers are usually more slender than the average human, they are hunchbacked, with muscular and long arms that can touch the ground even when they stand upright.

This body structure allows them to move easily within the caves.

Their heads are small, with a narrow slit at the position where the eyes should be, they are completely blind.

Their noses and ears are huge, their sense of smell and hearing are extremely sharp, enabling them to easily discern sounds and smells from a mile away.

Due to their lack of exposure to sunlight, their skin is a ghastly white, their entire body is hairless, revealing only bare skin.

Cave Dwellers possess a degree of intelligence, albeit not high, they live in groups based on tribes within the caves.

If it is a large cave group, several tribes often live together, aside from having their own leaders, they also have a shared chieftain as the overarching leader.

When a tribe of cave dwellers is invaded by demonized energy, all members of the tribe are often transformed into magical creatures.

Demonized cave dwellers still live in groups based on tribes, their intelligence declines, but their strength significantly increases.

The lowest-ranking members of a demonized cave dweller tribe all have the capabilities of iron-ranked professionals, most members can be categorized as bronze-ranked.

Silver-ranked demonized cave dwellers, in a small tribe, would be considered commander level, in a large tribe, although positioned under the gold-ranked tribal leaders, they can still serve as warrior leaders and enjoy special treatment.

According to legend, each demonized cave dweller tribe in the lower layers of the Crying Cave also has a shared chieftain.

This cave dweller chieftain is said to have even reached legendary status.

Unfortunately, this legend has never been verified.

“Vivian, the lamp.” Catherine, standing at the coming mouth of the cave, was pondering.

After thinking it through, she began to build her defenses.

Vivian, upon hearing Catherine’s command, turned around and pulled several metal rods from a long bag on her back and passed them over.

This pocket was located at the bottom of the bag, making it very convenient for Vivian to retrieve things.

Catherine took the metal rods, turned them together a few times, and thanks to the tenons at both ends of the metal rod, they were connected into a sharp stand.

Holding the metal stand, Catherine looked around before setting the stand in a crack in the rock floor close to the cave entrance.

While Catherine was finding her spot, Vivian had already pulled several sets of parts from her bag and assembled them into a hexagonal glass cylinder with a metal lid on either end.

Through the transparent glass, a silver crystal ball could be seen embedded on the bottom metal lid, many magic arrays were densely drawn on the metal surrounding the crystal ball.

While the top metal lid had only one magic array, this array covered the entire metallic disk.

Standing to one side, Pannis, curious about Vivian’s fast adjustments, asked, “Is this lamp something you modified yourself?”

“Yes,” said Vivian, her face glowing with pride as she brandished her handiwork: “This desk lamp is not the same as those cheap standard issue ones.

Although the Array in the lamp I made also needs to be charged with 1,000 taels of Crystal Energy to activate, after activation, it can still completely store 1,000 Taels of energy.

While those cheap lamps also require the same 1,000 Taels’ Crystal for activation, they can only store 500 Taels’ energy, such waste, and moreover, even if the cheap lamps are not in use after being charged, the stored energy will leak out after just a month.

This lamp I made, however, loses at most one-fifth of its stored energy each year.

The only downside is that mine is twice as big as the cheap ones, making it less portable.

Currently, one of my projects is to try and reduce the size without compromising performance.

But that would involve Array modification and some techniques in casting magic inscriptions.

Actually, I think…”

“Hey.” Seeing Vivian’s hands slow down more and more as she spoke, completely lost in her thoughts, Lina jumped over and whacked Vivian on the head with a book from her hand: “This is adventure time, wake up.”

“Ah, sorry.” Vivian, who had been snapped out of her thoughts, handed the already adjusted lamp to Catherine.

Catherine took out a crystal worth 1,000 Taels from her bag, with a facial expression full of pain and reluctance.

She inserted the crystal into the groove on the top metal cap hesitantly, gritted her teeth, and activated the crystal.

“That’s 20 gold coins right there, Boss.” Lina, with a wicked grin, teased, “There you go, twenty gold coins, up in smoke, never to return.”

“Shut up!” The magic Array lines inside the crystal lamp started flashing from top to bottom, only after each line had flashed once did it return to its previous dull state.

Catherine then pulled out the now dim crystal and assembled the fully charged crystal lamp with the metal stand through the small hole reserved at the bottom, finally pressing the miniature magic array switch at the bottom of the crystal lamp.

With one push of the switch, the crystal ball inside the crystal lamp lights up immediately.

The glaring light became soft after passing through the glass cover surrounding it, filling the whole room.
