Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Aura, Calamity Gradually Arises

?

"Lawrence, the Church is very dissatisfied with you. Why have so many Hell Demons escaped?" The leading Hell Preacher with a crew cut looked at the town mayor, his tone was calm, yet it carried the calm before a storm.

There were fifty Hell Preachers in total, each with a crew cut, and aside from different faces, there were no other differences.

The mayor, Lawrence, remained composed, "Preacher, you should not be approaching me about this matter, but rather, you should seek the Priest from the Church Court. After all, the entrance to Hell is beneath the church."

"Ever since he arrived, so much has happened: first the pumpkin-headed Evil Spirits, then the slender Shadow Ghosts, and now the insect-type Demons, plus today's meteorite from beyond the skies. Before his arrival, even one of the entrances to Hell beneath Akman Town was just a peaceful town."

Town Mayor Lawrence handled the accusation from the preacher effortlessly, and even managed to shift the blame onto Qin Muye.

However, there was some reason in this, as Qin Muye's temporary "Event Physique" skill was indeed a pitfall, otherwise such a concentration of events would not have occurred.

"We have already sent a letter to the Church Court about Father Andrew's matter, but your situation requires more explanation, such as the tourists disappearing around Akman Town every year." The Preacher clearly came prepared.

Lawrence was not at all nervous, "Preacher, I don't understand. Akman Town is remote, most of the area beyond the town is wilderness, and with limited police forces, I have no way of dealing with tourists disappearing."

Though the Preacher came prepared, he didn't harass without reason; Lawrence's explanation made sense. He did quite well, actually. Every time tourists disappeared, he personally led teams to search for them, though whether they could be found was another matter.

As for asking Lawrence to eradicate the hazards, to voice it would be unreasonable. Akman Town didn't have many resources as it was merely a small town. Such tasks should typically be handled by the council arranging troops to clear the area, but because of the Hell entrance, the Hell Church and the Church Court secretly prevented it, thus it had never been carried out.

Even if it were cleared, the forces of Hell Power would regenerate in its wake, so it was left to be.

"I will fully report your defense, Lawrence. How is the situation with the traces of the insect- type Demon?" The Preacher inquired merely as a formality, as the death of a few individuals wasn't much issue, both for the Church Court and the Hell Church, as long as the Hell entrance remained sealed, it was a minor matter.

"We are still on the hunt, this insect-type Demon is quite cunning, almost like an experienced Hunter," Lawrence said.

The Preacher's expression remained impassive, showing no emotions, but his gaze turned towards the sky above Akman Town.

"It's almost too late; I can feel an increasing presence of Hell outside of the town."

"Have you figured out what that extraterrestrial object is yet?"

Suddenly, the Preacher shifted the topic to the Iron Blood Warrior spacecraft that had fallen from the sky. He didn't know its true origin, but from the spear-like shape, he suspected it was something special.

"Father Andrew from the Church got there first; however, it seems he didn't manage to take anything back, but the spear-shaped meteorite disappeared without a trace, even the marks were erased." Lawrence felt somewhat stifled; he had been a step too late. Previously, he had been scouting the mountains with the Preacher for the Alien form.

When he returned to arrange an investigation, the object was already gone, leaving only a large pit at the scene.

After hearing this, the Preacher also fell silent; it seemed this matter couldn't be investigated further.

As for going to ask about it, he wasn't foolish. When he arrived, he already knew that Father Andrew had brought a hundred strong red-robed adherents, quite formidable in strength.

In both numbers and strength, they as Preachers did not have the advantage, so after some thought, he ultimately gave up.

The Church Court and the Hell Church had a good relationship, though they were also competitors. Currently, it was a fair competition and rarely turned malign, as everyone faced the threat of Hell.

"It's about time for everyone to depart and hunt the insect-type Demon; send someone to notify Father Andrew, he has his duties too," said the Preacher as he stood up.

This slightly altered Lawrence's expression; there was much implied in these words.

He knew that the Preacher wouldn't engage in personal vendettas, as these Preachers were not typical humans but baptized ones, willing to die if it meant combating Hell, but now they had to notify Qin Muye, which implied the Preacher was uncertain he could eliminate this group of insect-type Demons.

Face didn't matter to the Preachers at all; otherwise, someone else who had been tricked by Qin Muye like this would definitely feel upset, but the opponent seemed as calm as if he wasn't human.

"Or maybe these Preachers are not human at all," Lawrence thought to himself, but he replied, "I will notify immediately, please wait a moment."

There was no need to find someone for the notification; a phone call would suffice.

Soon, he connected with the other side and briefly explained the Preachers' intention, and that was that.

The call was answered by Tian Qi, who agreed readily, but didn't move. Instead, he communicated with Qin Muye.

Qin Muye decided to send fifty people to loaf around, and if something went wrong, they were to run and not worry too much about it.

This showed that he knew the Hell Preachers were not confident about dealing with the Alien, a killing machine merged with Hell Power.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have genuinely sought help; Qin Muye didn't inquire how the other side had figured this out.

Not sending people wouldn't look good; at the very least, he had to keep up appearances. Loafing around was one thing, but if something unexpected happened-like snatching a few Hell Preacher or Alien corpses-that would be acceptable to Qin Muye.

As for the lair of the Alien Queen, he had found it but only knew its approximate location, not the specifics.

Outside Akman Town, there seemed to be a vast underground cavern, which had now become the nest of the Aliens, filled with at least a thousand of them-a number that had hatched in

just one day.

Well, the outskirts of Akman Town were truly blessed with exceptional beings. According to reports from an Evangelical Spirit Monster who had traced the Aliens back, most were not of animal type but derived from murderers, urban legends, and other terrifying creatures empowered by Hell Power.

If the Aliens hadn't merged with Hell Power, they might not have been able to pull it off, but the Witch had filled in their last missing piece, dramatically transforming the Aliens. Therefore, the Preachers were not facing mere Aliens; without the integration of Hell Power, some terrifying creatures could have indeed killed or even overrun them. The Aliens were strong, but when facing these monsters possessing Hell Power, they were no match. Having acquired Hell Power, they naturally gained the ability to confront these terrifying creatures and even use them as hosts.

Certainly, the Aliens had managed to accomplish this feat.

Thus, Akman Town had become eerie enough.

Without care, an Alien apocalypse might occur, which wasn't out of the question unless an advanced cosmic civilization like the Iron Blood Civilization or Engineer Civilization noticed in time to avert it. Otherwise, the Hell-Powered Aliens might extend beyond Earth, becoming a terror akin to the Interstellar Insect Tribe-a horrific slaughterer. This wasn't purely a science fiction aspect, but one endowed with mysterious powers.

Of course, it may not develop to that extent; after all, Qin Muye was there, and if things went awry, he would simply initiate a Crimson Invasion.

Although Aliens could absorb the genes of their hosts and evolve, it didn't mean they could evolve indefinitely. Such evolution only occurred while residing in a host, so it was limited.

Fifty Evangelical Spirit Monsters quickly assembled and then headed to the location agreed upon with the Preachers, with Lawrence following them as seemingly requested by the

Preachers.

It appeared that although Lawrence's reasoning had convinced the Preachers, suspicion remained. The Hell Church wasn't just sitting idle; the aftermath of the missing tourists at Akman Town was handled by the Hell Church, which inevitably held much intelligence. But as Lawrence handled matters without leaving any trace, the Hell Church had no reason to replace him, and as this wasn't a major issue for them, they chose to overlook it. However, with this call for aid from Lawrence and the dispatching of Preachers, the opportunity was taken to check on the situation to see if it really was due to the influence of Hell Power. If so, a simple sweep to ensure order would be sufficient.
