This is currently #2 for me with "HP A magical Journey" being #1.Second, idk which fool has said it's a xianxia, it's a normal transmigration into HP verse novel with some twists in space and time.Now something about the story. I'd gove it a solid 4/5 among HP fanfics, the pacing, plot everything is good. First off pls ignore most comments below they are either wrong, biased or haven't read the book.It's a 3.7/5 book although it starts slow and clunky it is smoothed out along the way and becomes quite interesting. The story is good though the title of the book might be discouraging, I do not think the author would have been able to write a book as good as this if the author didn't use The Harry Potter world as the foundation for the story

I really have a hard time understanding the negative opinions regarding this. Sure there are some Chinese xianxia elements, but not to the extent that they overshadow the Harry Potter theme. I find the story rather engaging, with political and moral dialogue that you don’t normally find in a fanfic.In fact, people say it’s all negatives, a grim dark setting. But that’s just the realism of the politics, and self interest, that act as the background of the setting of this fanfic. Something that J.K. Rowling actually didn’t delve too deeply into because of the fact that it was primarily a young adult’s series. Most of the political content is even something that has clear connections with western history up to the current century.And as far as doing a Harry Potter story without Harry Potter; it’s like they never read any of Marvel’s What If comics that delved into alternate history if a key event had turned out differently.

This novel is quite lovely, amusing, and frivolous. The Mc have no lofty goal to ascend heaven o4 descend hell... He was searching for a home, a family, and companionship to heal his homesickness... The heroines in general are lovely girls with different and diverse personalities and interests. This novel is vastly different from what I used to read from Chinese authors. It's a rare, hidden gem. Note: the first few chapters are not good but it's just 5~10 chapters, and don't skip them, they are important. Note: I have left my negative reviews to point out how I almost missed this gem.

I'm kinda surprised none of the reviews here have mentioned it, but it's VERY much more romance/slice of life focused than research/powers. Based on the description it sounded like it may have been something like "Scholar's Advanced Technological System" or "I Have a Super USB Drive", where the knowledge and/or powers are the main focus, but that's not the case at all.For the most part his days at the workplace are Skipped over quickly, whereas a lot of time is spent on him doing random other things - like consulting for a rival company, working part time with a friend in order to see some an idol he likes, going to a sleep clinic and then on a very long 'date' with the idol he met etc.It's written fairly well and the characters aren't annoying or unlikeable, it just isn't what i expected going in. Like he gains all this random new knowledge as well as being able to control these dust particle things that let him do minor "magic" type stuff, like preventing static electricity, mess with someone's hair by moving his hands, auto-aim a thrown ring onto a bottle etc. He also basically has detective vision - can zoom in and see the composition of things to tell if someone is wearing makeup, failed at doing laundry properly, what they have eaten recently, what notes a wine has etc.You'd think that he would perhaps do some more studying to find the extent of his knowledge, practice with his powers etc. But nope. He basically can pull out knowledge from out of nowhere thanks to the pill. He doesn't practice his powers at all - just uses them at random moments. Whenever he uses the detective vision he basically spews a ton of observations out all at once, which we are told in passing is because he can't really control himself when he goes into that mode.Basically, as long as you go in with the knowledge it's more romance/slice of life focused than science/powers, you'll enjoy it...provided you like romance stuff.

It basically is a story about a strongest person with nonexistent EQ - almost a psychopath - trying to live in society, while utterly failing to understand basic concepts of “good”, “right” and “what it is to be a normal human”. But he knows what he is lacking, so he just follows what his close ones tell him to do. I’d say the only downside to this story is severely lacking descriptions

The magic system is exceptionally well-polished. The cheat is similar to WMW in some sense, so I knew what to expect when reading the novel. Truly, the author does take plenty of notes from WMW, where the MC begins modestly and ascends to the top with slow, deliberate care, always thinking twice before acting and remaining focused on the goal of becoming a magician. Following the introduction of the early arc, the magical world reveals itself as both ruthless and fair. Unlike some novels where characters undergo drastic personality shifts, or their cheat is just never used again, this is not the case here; the MC in this story maintains a steadfast, careful, and methodical approach to becoming stronger, and is not ashamed to use his cheat to go up higher. This narrative doesn't have unnecessary elements – there is no fluff, no romance, and no mercy. The reading experience would have been even better if I hadn't had to deal with MTL.

Webnovel uses Chatgpt to translate all their novels, if you read the trial novels, they are all translated by chatgpt, I think if a novel gets picked, they will edit the future translations and make it better.
Well it's been several months and it seems that webnovel still has the worse translation. Translator is probably being paid on a per-chapter basis and is thus doing a subpar job, instead of the guy who did this translation here. Very sad :(
Definitely being payed by per chapter, in fact there’s definitely quite a low word limit for each chapter, since they’ve split down normal chapters into several parts on other novels. Sometimes 2, 3 or 4 depending on the length of the chapter.
So I read up to chapter 284 elsewhere, decided to check the mtl (i know ) and i had to go back to chapter 148 to get back to where it got left off. That is an almost clean 2 to 1 ratio, definitely padding things.

It is pretty okay till chapter 100, still there are a lot of situations where you get irritated by the entire plot. For example the mc can show whatever powers and no one questions anything. He is only 18 years old, however he knows multiple attack techniques, he is experienced in the dao of tea, music, painting, sword, cooking... No one questions how the f#ck is this possible? It takes a lifetime for someone to learn only one of these things (okay.. for geniouses, at least 3-5 years). Then we have that f#cking servant that he has. At the start it was supposed to be a powerful helper, however we see that it is only a burden, the mc protects her so much that she almost never trains or engages in combat. She is like that f#cking annoying blond bitch nun childhood friend from High School DxD. Irritating as f#ck... Now apart from this, I quite enjoyed the novel. Unfortunately, I can see that the more we go into the later chapters the more the author is redusing the iq of the characters and making them move with f#cking emotion. (Sorry for the swearing). Currently at chapter 24 and all I can say is the MC is stupid and a coward. He’s so scared of the original MC that he overreacts like he’s going to die in the next second when he heard some minor young master from his family intersected with the original MC and might have offended him. And when he learned the young master didn’t offend the original MC, he still had cold sweat on his face. As for why he’s stupid? Well he can clearly and easily prevent a heroine to meet with the MC, he thinks it’s impossible to prevent them to meet. The funny thing is? He did prevent them to meet and didn’t realise until the system rewarded him. He also only realised why they didn’t meet after the heroine told him the reason, which he could have easily thought of. Not to mention his system gives him way more points when heroines get a better impression of him, but he wants to never see the heroine again due to being scared of the original MC. In fact he even cancels their engagement due to that reason. Not to mention the way he thinks is like a….a uhm, I guess the word ‘beta’ fits? One example is he helps and gives the heroine a cultivation treasure while partly to gain a more favourable impression, but also so that if she and the original MC end up together, she will probably plead with him to spare his life. Like what? The story is interesting but the MC ruins it, it’s always such a shame when I find a story I like but then the author shuts his brain down when he writes the MC.

Are the protagonists evil, in any of the novels that you read? For example the mc for I Started As A Novel Villain was with the brain of a NPC. Ah, CORNBRINGER. Honestly he is a decent author story wise. The main problems are his English is pretty broken and he won't get an editor. Another problem is the sense of humor in all of his novels is rather... childish? He basically makes it so that every character acts like a 12 year old. Constant winking and smirking from characters who would never do that. In his Marvel FanFic, Thor is basically mentally r**arded, giggles like a little girl and gossips like one too. Seeing characters you love be reduced to giggling children, with the bodies of adults, is just annoying, to say the least.

This is one of the best trash novels i have read beside the face slapping system, but after reading 600+ chapters im gonna drop it because of the repetitiveness of the plot moreover now mc acts dumbs for no reason at all for eg Spoilerhe made a sword skill which will kill anyone who will practice it instead of mc, because practicing it requires divine body or smth which only mc have, yet he keeps telling others to practice it despite others telling him many times that only he can practice it but overall its a great time pass novel and a good source for instant satisfaction where you don't have to wait for 200 chapters just to understand what the fuk is actually going on the story

An update to my review below, now am at Chap 145 and am dropping it.The main reason is because how he handles his enemies. Basically ALL the time whenever there is a group of enemies or a Sect who is against him the EXACT same things happen.He initally plans to wipe them all out, so heads over to them. Whilst trying to find them he kills a few lower level people whilst asking to be taken to the one in charge. The Elders/Sect Master spend a while on a monologue about how they will be able to overcome this, only to be almost instantly defeated. The MC calls them weak. All the remaining survivors IMMEDIATELY start spouting BS about how they are sorry and never intended this and it was all the fault of the person who just died. MC "believes" them. He gets some treasures. Decides to use one of the treasures straight away. The remaining people/Elders believe that MC will be weakened/distracted and plot to kill him. They attack and are instantly proven wrong. He kills a few of them, then the remaining ones spout the same BS as before. He again "believes" them and then spares them to be in charge or whatever.This exact thing has happened at least 4/5 times already and its so annoying every time. It would be much better to get through if he just went full genocide mode on these enemies like the typical cultivation MCs.When it comes to the "belief" in their BS. At the start it was pretty clear that he knows that they are just spouting lies because they don't want to die, but the last 2 times it is written as if he actually believes some of the obvious lies they are spouting. Either way, it's just a dumb, annoying repeated "gag".

Yea, this is definetly a common Protagonist thing to do, but it's always stupid and annoying.Smart protagonists don't do this though - if they can kill an enemy, then they do it. There's no need for him to do this whole charade each time. Just kill them all and take their stuff, since he is just going to do that anyway.I suppose it could he perceived as being meant to be funny or something, but having it be the exact same thing happening every damn time starts to grate. Especially when it sounds like MC is starting to believe obvious lies and there isn't any indication anymore that he is just playing along for whatever dumb reason he Magics up.

Don't believe the reviews that say the second volume is bad, we simply find out more about the mc or his past, however he doesn't act particularly differently, he doesn't become a "good rag" he just opens up more, he never fought At first because no one has the courage to face him, he doesn't become the typical Japanese MC, he just starts acting like a normal and less strange human being. I didn't read the third volume because I just read two similar stories, one the guy reincarnates in a yandere eroge where he stays with his mother and daughter, and the other is a mere story where the guy also stays with his mother and daughter and SURPRISING AT THAT HERE ALSO LOL, not that I'm dissatisfied, but as I already know how it's going to end, it's a bit pointless to read, but the story is good.

So in the end she never dissed him as she said that in thankfulness and even though he complained a little, it wasn’t a big deal and he was clearly just saying some small talk.Also I’ve read that novel you’ve recommended, and while i like it and I’ve been reading it for a while as well, that guy clearly manipulates the girls with his high charm, strength, money, fame, or how he knows a lot about the girls and he knows how to get them to like him. This is a completely different novel, where here it’s a completely normal guy who transmigrates into a school life type novel with no special powers at all, while the villain:the play of destiny is about transmigrating with a system, and he pretty much gets everything he needs and he just needs to keep getting stronger and destroy the protagonists. They’re both different so the mc’s are completely different as the mc of this novel wouldn’t really work in the VPOD novel. Plus the VPOD mc would completely change this novels premise as this novel is more laid back and there’s no real big goal. I like the VPOD type of mc more but having that type of mc all the time is boring so I like switching it up, especially when I’m bored and don’t have anything to read like now

Lmao I guess we’ll have different opinions on this matter till the end. U think this is a trash mc while I think this is an ok mc. But I suggest you stay away from all or at least 95% of Japanese novels because they don’t usually have mc’s who carry the entire story unless it’s a crazy degenerated story, which are sometimes even worse in my opinion. I like stories where the mc is the center of the story mostly as well but I don’t only have one type of preference, or else I wouldn’t have read/watched so many stories by now. Since I’ve read so many stories on this website, I’ve learned to be flexible and be more lenient or else I would have stopped reading and ran out of things to read a while ago
