While there are many excellent FMCs is quite rare to find them in midst of the sea of eternally crying girls, pitiful dolls that exist just to attract the male leads (that are always full generic copy-paste of some other work character), or the 'you are a girl, so you can't' troupe.The good part is that the works with good FMCs tend to be damn amazing. To me, 'Kumo desu ga, nani ka?' and the novels from Vihyungrang (Royalroad) like Lament of the Fallen, are just amazing.
Kumo desu ga, nani ka not only did female mc really well, but they also did the male to female side character really well too rather than just make it a joke, which is always surprising. Surprise, some jokes, then acceptance and not really bringing it up too many times, like what'd realistically happen.

At chapter 400, this is a slow burn one that is at very low heat and is set to cook for the next day(week), a really good read, powers and enemies get kinda repetative and easily predicted there is some innovative power usage but when that is done he just uses that Innovation until the next innovative idea. Would recommend if you've got the time to sit through some honestly mind numbing shit but if so go ahead

Is it worth reading? Sure. However, this is just a wishful story or a "fairy tail". This isn't really a cultivation LN. Things happen because they author says they happen not really due to rules of common sense or rules of cultivation and levels of power, they just "are". This is like a bedtime story you tell at bedtime.... It doesn't go very deep into the cultivation nor does i go deep into how the magic works. It has some depth into how magic works, but at the same time it seems to be completely ignored and at times you really wonder if that was even a spell or just the author claiming it's a spell. The MC goes up against monsters and the author never tells you what their power level is. Then the MC goes into a dungeon like place (old hidden ruins) that have all these monsters in there that should probably be powerful, but once again no power levels are ever mentioned, yet the very weak MC kills them without issues....SpoilerIn the old hidden ruins they find out that they were the ruins of a very advanced civilisation that specialized in mind magic, one of the tree magics the MC has a specialty in. All the knowledge of mind magic is horded away by the emperor and his family of mind mages and they don't allow other mind mages to really advance in real mind magic. So the MC decides to destroy EVERYTHING because the ruins old residence did a large amount of their research on unethical ways to use mind magic. The MC did not spend time searching for mind magic teachings and spells and training in the ruins at all.... No one outside of this crappy countries emperor has any real knowledge of mind magic and it's spells and they won't teach anyone that information nor their spells. Lets just destroy all of this FREE knowledge and not learn stuff that even the emperor of this crappy country probably doesn't know.. He doesn't have to use the stuff he finds to be unethical. There is so much more there than this unethical knowledge, but he just goes ahead and destroys it all..... This MC is stupid...

Initially the storyline is ok....but it become bad, after the story is told in third person point of view it lacks character interaction it is all in narrative and spell formula is lacking, it says inscribed/inscription correct me if I'm wrong, inscribing the core with a spell is the way to breakthrough to become a True mage but what should be inscribed, there is nothing should they just inscribed intentions or inscribed geometric formula of the spell, runes, or letters....nah...it just so lacking . If you want for a pastime reading waiting for updates, then I recommend this novel but for serious Nah....just skip this one

Really I really enjoy this novel, it's one of my favorites on the Royal Road and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I'm always on time to read the new chapters. My comment is not a recommendation but I urge you to read this book. The author is a good friend of mine and he does illustrations of each character and they're pretty descriptive. Everyone who says that it sucks try at least to read half of the present chapters

MC is treated like crap and starts the famous bullying ARC. Anyone knows that the elements of mc are strong and have countless possibilities, but still, the author wants to make the ARC of bullying in his story and tries to give unconvincing reasons for mc to be treated like this.I don't know if the novel gets better later on, but I can't get past the beginning of it.

Wdym " Anyone knows that the elements of Mc are strong and have countless possibilities"? No, not everyone in the setting knows that. You and I might know that his elements are strong with our modern day knowledge and knowledge of other novels and the fact that Mc is going to become strong in the future but in the setting the people don't know for very obvious reasons. Not just that but having a tri or dual affinity is usually a bad thing in the setting, and in the setting they haven't perfected knowledge of magic.All of his elements have limiting factors. One is strictly controlled by the royal faction and barely anything is taught about it, another is used by an enemy empire and spells aren't taught for it in the empire and it is also shunned because it is used by the enemies who are at war with the empire (his teacher at the acadmy literally treats it like a curse to have the element), and the other is expensive and not strong at lower levels as its easily counterable. Not just that but he is a commoner, with a tri affinity which is also looked down on, and only has elements that are looked down on. They all seem rather convincing reasons for the bulling and fit the setting of the story.

This novel is good, all the characters are mentally unstable (except the MC), and when you feel that a dark and gloomy atmosphere descends on the novel, the MC interface and brightens the atmosphere... 7.5/10 I've read up to about 80-ish, so I'll tell you it's pretty interesting. I like the MC and the ML and the other characters aren't too bad either. The plot, up to the point I was at, is pretty much what the description says. So if you think the description is interesting you should probably be fine reading it. The world-building can be a bit iffy but the author is definitely trying (also it isn't really the focus of the story). It's been a while since I read but I believe the quality of writing was very good. I quite enjoyed it but I forgot about it because of the slow release rate. I'll probably pick it up again.

Oh, this story was really disappointing for me. You have the perfect setup for a cool, evil Mc. His character is an evil lich with a group of Overlord-esc NPCs loyal to him and he becomes his character right after turning into a lich by sacrificing an entire cities worth of people (NPCs).Then, the story starts. MC has regressed back to level 1, but is now a lich, and is a white knight type character. He runs away from the super secret hiding spot only his most loyal NPC knew about because he’s worried he will kill him (and because he wants a new start separated from his actions). He feels terrible about killing people, and goes out of his way to avoid using his dark magic (because dark magic is bad). He makes a monster to guard his phylactory, and then says that’s the last time he’ll use it.Now, if the system was interesting, all that could have been okay. But it’s not. It doesn’t really make sense. Pre level 20 Mc with the aid of an NPC priest takes on a super high level dungeon and takes out the boss. It’s an uninteresting, uninspired level system that in no way makes up for the rest of the stories problems.It is well-written, grammatically correct and no spelling mistakes or odd sentence choices.
Yep. I found it too boring to continue past 40. You get the play by play of every little action mc takes in scenes and it just gets grating after a while. The mindscape is neat, really feels like the story should have focused around that more instead.

Highly recommended. The updating time may be slow, but it's a pleasant mix of the playful troll mentality of the main character of So I'm a Spider so What? with a base building idle rpg game. Honestly quite refreshing to read, and is very addicting. Basically mc dies, and is reborn in a small town as a dungeon. Dungeons are fairly commonish, them being sorta sentient "things" that can be aggressive (tries to kill delvers), be cooperative (like a fun dungeon that doesn't kill delvers, but is generally challenging and rewarding), and toybox (more like a holy land-esque place where the dungeon core creates an environment full of nice things that people can wander in and take stuff as long as they follow the rules). It's kinda weird to describe dungeons, they come in many forms. There is the MC which controls the house and can "place" things like a base building game. There's also one that controls a forest, and one that controls a graveyard. but overall I'm really liking it so far(ch69). The "monsters" of the dungeon (which is a manor) can communicate with the sentient MC, and in turn, the MC is on good terms with the town, so there is not really much "conflict".If you like fun and wholesome base building with interesting characters and different perspectives, you might like this novel. 4.6

Yes. But there is no such thing as "Tor Sites". There are Onion domain sites, but they didn't recommend you go to one. TOR blocks a lot of malware itself. It doesn't allow most of anything to run on it except HTML and CSS so using TOR itself is a great way to stop malware and visit a site securely. It's also anonymous which is why #POPCORN_DEMON# originally recommended it. I never said you should download random things. I agree that if you are on a sketchy website using a virtual machine and some anti-ransomware and anti-malware software running is best practice before downloading anything. But let's not go blaming TOR, a web browser, blindly. That's the kind of stuff that makes people resistant to taking steps to increase their privacy.

Tried to read Divine Dungeon after this recommendation, but the 3rd book was just terrible. I feel bad for non web novel LitRPG readers if this book is considered one of the best mainstream LitRPG books.

Overall a really good read with fun story and well developing characters.Just note that this is a dungeon core novel, by its genre it will have large info dumps, walls of text theory crafting, and little exploration. This has a feel to it like "Supreme Magus". The tone of the novel, more than just a little similarity between the MC and friends. Which seem similar also. Pet, needs to break bond later when she becomes human, ect.So, the MC was an orphan, got lucky and was scoped out by a pair of "hunters" sent by an AI to test his character. He gets a protected legal status in the Empire he is in and gets into a "hunter" school for dungeon delvers. It is a remarkably no kill society thus far in the story.The MC, as i compared to Supreme Magus', is sort of broken with unresolved psych issues he's going to therapy to deal with. Highly regulated society, with more of a today's world youngsters on issue such as sex and relationships. More like hooking up with lots of casual sex instead of pairing up with your own friend/companion - like Sup Mag's characters behave. Maybe I'm just too old to relate to today's generation like that, but I don't approve of that lifestyle.I dropped the novel because I'm a bit uncomfortable with the MC getting cucked. SpoilerHe had just spent 6 months delving, sharing a tent, paired with a girl who jumped into someone else's bed after a party. She even made a bet with someone else if she lost a duel she'd sleep with him - right next to the MC. Most people would be offended if their companion did that. Worse, they are bonded together for like, good, with a pair of growth rings that can only work for them that lets them swap positions in battle. The female lead's viewpoint had even including knowledge that they'd be paired up in the future (they are similar to her parents, not going to say more on that), knowing her parents would love him and the concept of the rings when they met. Hmm..... this isn't my cup of tea and I'm not really relating to such a relationship.

Eh? Fairly early I suppose. The MC was even involved in several affairs with girls himself before the mission he met his "fiance". Sex is pretty casual in this book. The girls moved on from the academy.Not only was the female lead jumping into another man's bed, and referring to other times she did, but when the MC confessed to her, the girl refused to be an item with him - she stated it was customary only when they became immortals (for those on the path).So, the MC had to agree that they "would see other people" until then.In essence, they agreed that eventually they would marry, but the girl wanted to play around until then. Like I said, it's not my cup of tea - it would not be a relationship I'd want to be involved in if my fiance was bedding other men until the actual marriage.A story is made up from characters, not merely the greater plot. This situation is so pathetic that I don't care for the higher story, for the green hatter and the harlot bothers me. Additionally they lose their "child" in the future - she has to be stripped of the bond with the MC.

reading up to ch 148the first 40 chapters are really good, there is progress and reasonable choices, but if you cant read through them its best to give up as afterward the progression of the mc and the story slow down to a crawl.in the early chapters he enters a traning school called a playpen, my impression of the story is that he never really left it, most of his fight are avoidable and lacking in tension, his mental age may swing from 8 to 40 years old depending on the situation, and most infuriating of all, at least for me, is that he takes non optimal choices when he know of a better way.on the current pace i assume his “training“ will continue until ch 250 or more, and after that he will be in the middle reaches of the power structure.its not a bad read but you need to willing to give it a lot of patience and time before you see results. and some more spoilerish dataSpoileryour future is largely determined by talents, talents are obtained at tier 1-3-25-50, as of ch 148 and 3000+ pages mc is tier 10 in a tournament arc, the economy is based around the price of mana, the mc talent allows him to output mana in balance breaking quantities, fights lack tension because we get to know that mc and girlfriend are watched and protected by tier 40+ guys wich is our equivalent of a walking nuclear holocaustpath of ascension, the name of the novel is ironically his biggest limitation as while he is on it he can only receive limited help and rewards basically nerfing many uses of his mana generation.
I dont know how to feel about this one, its always easier to say the negative about a novel because we take the positive for granted so im doing just that but take it with a grain of salt i´ve read some disastrous first 30 to 100 chapters and this one is not so bad and you can feel that the author is finding his style.° The fights/plot lacks tension° The MC personality is not solid, life experiences, what he says or does do not translate to the way he makes decisions° The technical quality of describing skills and demonstrating via a graph the upgrade curve is bellow subpar° What you get at the begging of the novel is not what you are going the end up reading later, could be a good thing, a bad one, you decide
