Don't come into this looking for something exceptionally serious but if you want fun, and can ignore some small issues, give it a shot. I've listened to the audiobook of this series as well, and I can say it kept me going for hours on end. Try viewing this from the angle of enjoying the MC's antics, his roleplay, all of it. It's a hell of a lot of fun that way. You can even make and think up gadgets that Zlo may make, and who knows, maybe you'll have the same crazy ideas as the MC!Characters are well written, and it largely glosses over the real life aspects of the world, giving us just enough information to see how Dylan supports his lifestyle or providing a quick and plausible way to show a timeskip. Most of the time is spent in VR/In-game which I appreciate. World building provides some decent background to how the world works, etc. Progression isn't overly slow but doesn't blaze past so you can keep up without getting bored.Let me know how you find it.

This novel is a good example of a vr novel, very realistic and even though it's only a vr it has real life effect not like other vr novel that money would flow like a hose, this novel would actually gave us a reasonable depiction on how vr games can affect real life
The thing that really hooked me was the side characters, even the first minion Roosevelt, got me to crack up! It felt like a homage to Stay-Puft from Ghostbusters...and the Jaques...the minion interaction was just phenomenal.

Mmo novels are a whole thing. but i can not for the life of me, read one.
What I especially like about this novel is that the author can actually write dialogue. Normally when I read webnovels, the "Sixteen-thousand year old Grand Dragon of the Azure Plains" sounds and talks the same as Joe from accounting or the grandma down the street. In this novel however, you can actually see the differences in speech patterns and accents. There's characters with southern accents, another character has one from New York, the beggar on the street actually talks like a beggar and not like the CEO of a fortune 500. Characters have catchphrases, they have banter with each other; they have so much personality that you can hear the inflections in their voice as they talk.

Writing is good. I just dont find our MC good for my liking. Theres probably countless of MCs out there that starts as naive, overly optimistic and cant bare to keep their own personal secrets and the MC here is one of those. And its just annoying, maybe because the novels ive been reading have at least mature, cautious and decisive Mc. Even the Mc of Solo farming in the tower, although a slice of life, could be quite calculative and sly. Mc here is just stupid for me.
Yeah I got tired of reading the same bullshit that comes with the "naive" protagonist archetype. There's a difference between the deliberately obtuse writing of those characters and "normal" characters who make mistakes out of ignorance/manipulation.Just an save yourself the time and instantly drop any novel with that writing style.

This is nice, but the author tends to half follow the same pattern for a long time, MC gets betrayed time and time again, but atleast it can be somewhat entertaining. At some point he learns his lesson and over prepares for everything. There are also a lot of technical details the the author just throws in there that might seem important, and they sorta are, but they can be summarised and the idea could still be conveyed properly. It is a nice novel and I do recommend giving it a read, you just have to endure the time skip party in the beginning and get used to detailed explanations for how things work and where his idea came from

This novel is super frustrating. The MC is betrayed all the time and suffers nonstop setbacks and losses. The time skips are brutal - for example when he transmigrates into a child he starts at like 7 years old and by chapter 31 he is in his 50s. He has like 6 different groups/people he needs to get vengence on but still hasn't managed any as of chapter 351. The author has a bad habit of summarizing stuff that really should have been organically shown. Whenever the MC gets established somewhere or starts building wealth he winds up either betrayed or on the run and forced to start over from scratch. Then he winds up getting lucky and rebuilding fast only to start the cycle over again. His cultivation method is all over the place with power ups being random. He is a jack of all trades and master of none. No decent romance or really interesting side characters either. MC is wishy-washy and "goes with the flow" way too often. MC often squanders opportunities to become stronger and there is no catharsis because it's only dumb luck that keeps him going. Honestly it's by no means the worst thing I've read but I just can't handle such a lame MC. TL;DR MC is dumb Boi who never learns. 3/10 would not recommend.

One of the top reviews from RR. I was enjoying the earlier chapters, but after reading this reviews, not so much anymore. First off. There is nothing wrong artistically with this story. Nearly all of my critiques are subjective. And, to the author (because this review is not for you, but for potential readers) stick with it, you've done a lot of work and I commend it!!!!!!! Please don't take my review personally (or any review) because everything written can be rewritten, edited, fixed, etc. Please do fix any plotholes readers point out and feel free to write us back if we step over the line. In our story, the main character was a lowly programming drone, who iniplicably died and was reincarnated by a powerful entity on a cultivation world. He has access to sect resources, stumbles across several ancient inheritances, is gifted the uber-storage-ring-of-AWESOMENESS... but never really demonstrates much interest in (1) cultivation or (2) martial arts or (3) enjoying life.Given that the power in his world is based on physical might and martial prowess and he has had several near-death experiences, our intrepid MC inexplicably stays true to his pocket protector and insect collection, marching forward decade-after-decade to create theaters, resort hotels, and plumbing manufacturing. (Did I mention as a 60-year-old virgin, tasked by his ghostly ancestors to make babies and rebuild the sect, GIVES AWAY a treasure that can near-instantly seduce anyone near it... so no-harem is a virtual certainty in this story.)Grammar: Pretty good, no complaints; near full marks. (This never figures into my overall ratings unless it is really bad.)Style Score: Exciting as plain oatmeal. This guy has already died, a couple times, because he was messing with wierd stuff, is upsetting the status quo and powerful people or groups, and is making himself too wealthy to not kill. He knows that even his OWN SECT will probably kill him because of the dumb crud he keeps doing instead of cultivating, BUT HE JUST WONT STOP!If he'd putt effort into focusing on cultivation he'd likely be a real powerhouse. As I noted earlier magic treasures fell into his face, times five, and he now autocultivates. He has collected several hundred high-level techniques but has only bothered to learn a couple; he hasn't bothered to practice with any weapons, doesn't box or use fist techniques, uses only one low-level movement technique. He collects and makes super powerful weapons, apparently excited at their potential, but makes zero effort to train in any of them; he barely learns "paddle waving" to wield a large stick and occasionally clubs things inexpertly. I think he also has slight skill with a knife on a rope; very beginner level skill though. All the while living in a martial arts sect with roommates who are powerhouses and become generals. He is really good at training bugs; apparently insects can beat the crap out of people in this world... so... Go bugs.It is simply painful to see him wasting a magical storage ring that contains a world; he uses to to keep his lunch fresh, and store crafting materials and unused combat gear. He did store pills and cuktivation treasures there, but he ACCIDENTALLY cultivated with them (because legendary treasures often fall from the heavens into his pocket, and then autocultivate on his behalf... Three times.. In the first couple hundred chapters this has happened). ............................................But, he is apparently distracted by creating conveniences and studying a taboo noncombat skillset for reasons?He needs money (no),He cares about the people (no),His sect wants him to experiment (no),He wants to personally immerse himself in these comforts (no),He can (possibly)He likes to tinker (yes)He has poor survival instincts (Demonstrably so.). In his defense...Spoiler... he does create a weak clone army of idiot squid-face insect mercenaries, but they are numerous (this hasn't added any excitement yet, nor do I see how it is going to help our character in the near or long-run).Did I mention he discovered that his sect is already aware of and has access to the base of a highly advanced race of interstellar cultivators who probably already know how to do all the stuff he is trying to recreate, and he can't find out about them unless he cultivates. ... so... obviously he isn't going to cultivate. .... lets just stick with insect breeding and steam engines... yeah............................................. It is unclear if the character has any goals other than "lets see if I can do this very technical and difficult thing" (His ancestors are still waiting for him to procreate, the sole task he has ever been given in the story, but nope, 100 years later and still a virgin; they are likely wishing they could die a second time, out of shame; the holy sword is most definitely broken... or maybe he simply likes men?)So, I'm going to keep reading, in the hopes that somebody kicks the MC/author in the head and fixes this story, which has no technical issues. But, once I hit the end of my binge, I'll probably drop this if the character doesn't start moving in a more promising direction.

How come RoyalRoad writers are so bad? I guess it's just harder to filter trash there since they can put up any old trash.
Bad is harsh. There are pros and cons to foreign and English authors. Traditional webnovelists get paid by the chapter, have barely any room for spacing, and need to be constantly writing to be relevant. This also generally means that stories are drawn out, fairly basic, cliche, and no particularly well-written. Obviously there are gems and stories that break this mold, but this is generally what I see. They also consistently deliver easily digestible entertainment for years on end - so like I said, pros and cons.English webnovel writers, especially RR writers, traditionally start out writing for fun. They don’t make any money, they don’t have a responsibility to put out chapters, no guidelines on length/plot/consistency beyond what they think is best. Because of this, you’d usually end up with better writing, unique plots, proper story structure, etc. The cons are obvious, since they have no skin in the game, they can and will drop stories with no warning for any reason. They got bored, tired of dealing with reader rage, or life just changed circumstances. Now, this has been changing for RR writers. Modern day, people have realized you can make money off writing, so it’s because more of an industry in which there are two types of authors. Amazon publishing or patreon based. Amazon authors tend to write their book (200-300 pg standard) then publish one chapter a day on RR till it’s fully up. This attracts a bunch of readers who become fans. While putting up bk1 they are writing book 2. They then take down book 1 and publish it on Amazon - so you have to buy it, while posting book 2 one chapter at a time on RR. Rinse and repeat. Throughout the week they write 5 chapters, leaving them 2 ahead of schedule, meaning that next week they only need to write one chapter to stay on schedule or 3 to stay ahead. If they stay ahead they can let people pay them on patreon to read those extra chapters (called a “backlog”).Now, these rules don’t apply to well established authors on RR, or people who do it as a side-hustle. This is because RR readers, especially readers who really prefer LitRPG, are essentially gutter rats who will eat up anything that’s offered to them. That means that an author can and will drop off the grid for years, no content, and when they pop back up all of us readers will be right back there, eating up the scraps they through down.

Pretty much what I said. Duels are well thought out, yu-gi-oh world is more fleshed out, it's pretty interesting.
The canon characters don't veer off of what they would seem like if you've watched the anime, read the manga etc.You don't need to know much of anything about Yu-Gi-Oh to enjoy this one. Definitely would recommend giving it a shot.So even if you don't know anything other than Yu-Gi-Oh being a card game or are a hard core fan of the franchise, its enjoyable either way.

It is a good novel. MC is kinda overpowered, the story is okey plotwise (I have very high standars, so it can also be translated as good, this is only within the genre), there is harem but the mc is really trying to win over the females insted of just lusting, he is searching for love... kinda (he already has f#cked more than 10.000 women in his 1000 years so he doesn't just want to f#ck). The mc is ruthless, he doesn't give a shit usually, he is multitalented, very calm and a bit logical but you can also say he doesn't give a f#ck even for his life. Not that he wants to die, it just that he has experienced so much..... This novel is to read it and have fun with it, what I mean is, do not try to overthink situations, turn off your brain and speed read it. At the start, the pacing is very fast (one situation after another), but it slows down later on. I really reccomend to read it. It's impossible to have a harem without also treating women like they are second class citizens. You will never see a harem written in fiction that doesn't have at least one of the following tropes going along with it:1) Men literally kill each other for the right to be with a woman.2) Woman can be sold/traded by their fathers for political reasons.3) The man sleeps around without the consent of his woman/women, and she/they just put up a token resistance to his philandering before passively accepting it.4) Being a lesbian or bisexual female is a-okay but the existence of gay or even slightly effeminate men is absolutely not (and if gay men do exist, they're almost always evil abominations who end up dying horrible deaths)5) Every woman the MC meets is more beautiful than the last, and every one of them desperately wants to f#ck the MC (or they haven't yet realized they desperately want to f#ck the MC, but they will in the future).The existence of harems is just sexual fantasy escapism. But the truth of the society is still there. You can lobby for the decision of the court to be in your favor. Also, people die from various 'natural' reasons all the time. Business is just a scamming technique. This is modern world. The only good thing of modern world is, you are less likely to die. And the slim chance of me being rich and powerful, is true. But just because I'll be a cannon fodder doesn't mean I want die in ignorance and delusion. I'd rather know the unpleasant truth and face it head on. You can be safe and comfortable, with most of your basic needs met because of the post-Enlightenment philosophy that all people should have basic rights. If you truly believe that your life is anything like those of people living in ancient times, that is delusional. Sure, society is not perfect. And people can still suffer and die. But it is far from as bad as it has been throughout history. And the modern life you live goes hand-in-hand with the modern philosophy it was built around -- including the philosophy that women should have the same rights as men.You do not live in a society where you can have a harem, unless you happen to live in a part of the world where basic civil rights are not guaranteed for all people.

Cant help it. MC has that arrogance of a typical chinese protag who only relies on his golden finger, but laze around in the early chaps (currently in chap 30. Not sure if ill continue). MC also is shameless, bully and a liar, author just want to show it in a comedic undertone. He knows the dark side of the anime, wants to be low profile yet acting like a goof and showoff. Already has the mind of possibly an adult but is whiny and act likes a brat. The novel has problems with the grammar but its acceptable. Mc's reincarnation is only for convenience (for the knowledge of the future and other characters) other than that, MCs like a loser.
This guy is a complete bumb like I'm only on chapter 20 and he has no desire to train to get better and only wants to cheat his way to the top

Let me tell you, the mc slowly builds his power, and gradually reveals his power. He takes some risks, builds relationships, and is playing the long con. MC is f#cking 5 rn, ya'll really want him to brute force it like Naruto or Goku. Most chapters up to 50~ are the slow grind of training, interacting with the mc's adorable younger brother, and world building. It's a little to slow at times, but imo, it's the best Naruto fanfiction out there atm. The world building is actually really good. Christ knows I'm done with unimaginative gamer orphan SI's. But most of the other reviewers are probably lusty goons, so this type of story only appeals to the 5% of us who enjoy a little edge, some foolish comedy, and traditional culture. In conclusion, this is for men who enjoy seinen and have grown weary of endless shounen bullshit.

This novel first few chapters was cringe as f#ck, for example, when asked to show his ability during entrance exam, he pre arranged his secretary to snipe at the instructor and when instructor stopped the bullet and asked what he was doing, he simply said power of famiglia and wierd thing is instructor was impressed. Lmao, you literally read like 3 chapters and arbitrarily decided the whole story was a 0.5/5. You’re literally the reason the saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” exist. That wasn’t even that cringe, and context-wise, it made complete sense. Also, reread the damn chapter or at least that segment of it; while it’s already inherently obvious why the instructor was impressed(he used an unconventional method and had the balls to try and kill the instructor, trusting he wouldn’t be punished) the novel has an entire PARAGRAPH explaining why she’s impressed.The novel as a whole is at least a 4.3/5. You just decided not to properly read or give it a chance. Genuinely, you should feel ashamed.

The setting is your pretty standard Korean Modern Fantasy setting, with dungeons that mysteriously appeared, people awakening powers in any form, and an academy. It was executed pretty well and has few things that would negatively affect the reading of the story. The grammar, flow, pacing, etc... are all good, probably a grade 10 level of english so pretty good for a translated work. The story has a nice concept with a few fun little bits and references. Spoiler The synopsis is pretty misleading as the MC’s power isn’t his “famiglia” or anything like that. He has a bloodline power where he gains power from the number of enemies he faces, the amount of respect/fear he has overall, is stronger against those who fearful of him, enemies of his “people”, and those who are weaker. My only question is why the MC’s family/organization fled from the states to Korea when the “dungeons” spewed monster. Korea is pretty small compared to the U.S. so any dungeon breaking would affect more of the country but this is a Korean novel so it would be set in Korea and it isn’t a big deal anyway. 8/10

And in chapter 4-1 in the backstory of his father so can we take it that his father fled from Italy since the dungeons started in Europe before spreading to Asia and America like wildfire, so we can take it that it could have been easier to flee to South Korea than the U.S. And we also gets to know that it was his father who built the "famiglia" in Seul when the Korean government gave up on the immigrants to protect, and he awakened and as he grew stronger so did more and more people start to follow him and call him "Don". And what we can get from the story so are his only family Vito (father), Eugene (him/MC), Jiryan (daughter/his sister), and his dead mother. Now so am I not taking his maternal family into consideration since we only have heard their company name by chapter 47. So the "Famiglia" really is the classical mafia relationship family seen in movies like "The God Father" (The trilogy from 1972), so the synopsis makes sense in a sense of theoretical and poetic view.

Seeing pirates gave me an idea: It can be a Pirates of the Caribbean fanfic or just a wuxia/martial arts world. The MC gets a system(Ultimate Pirate King system or whatever you want to call it) that can bind a small boat. Once the boat is bound to the system, he can upgrade parts of it such as; size, durability etc. using experience, alternatively you could switch experience to gold. Once all the parts of the boat are upgraded to the maximum, he can upgrade the whole ship to another tier. But to do so he has to complete a system mission, such as rob another small boat(you can give different boats tiers, such as a small boat is a tier 1 boat, I don’t know how different ship sizes are named, such as galleon, frigate etc.). If it’s based in the Pirates of the Caribbean world, then you can also make a system store where he can buy supernatural powers, be it for himself, his crew, or the ship itself since there are many fantasy elements in the movies. If it’s a Wuxia world then you could include a system shop that sells martial arts books and etc. where the MC can upgrade his martial arts using experience or gold. Of course don’t make it a cultivation story where you can destroy planets with a single punch, otherwise it would be pointless….unless you introduce galactic stage pirates who rob cargo ships in space, then sure do whatever. As he advances he can bind more ships to his main ship, and create a fleet of pirate ships. There’s a lot more things that can be added on but I can’t think of anything right now, if anyone has anything to add on or better suggestions, feel free to comment below. Once again this is just some random idea I came up on the spot, like a eureka moment lol. Don’t take it seriously.

Author banix is good, although his fanfic is old and not updated anymore you can still enjoy it.. A lot of fate crossover with more than 40k words is good.. As far as I know, Webnovel has always been that way. What actually awes me are the covers for the novels. There's no issue with wanting to use a pretty girl as the cover for your novel, but why is it ALWAYS women in skimpy clothing with chests that are literally inhuman? Like chill, guys.
