Chapter 1085: The Sinful Womb of the Unborn
Chapter 1085: The Sinful Womb of the Unborn
The Cave appeared gapping, like a wound not just in the enormous mountain but also in this hellish world.
The rest of this place was cold, but there was an observable heat proceeding from within the hole.
Athena raised her weapons as she ordered the hell beast baby to step forward, advancing towards the entrance.
However, just before they would enter, she a voice, as a figure suddenly appeared beside her, making her senses go alert as she instinctive waved her weapon to her side. However, the made shift blades only went through Virgil.
"I’ll advice that you do not use your so called weapons to cut any of them down. in fact, no matter what you do, do not kill them."
"Where the hell do you always come from!? Don’t sneak up on me like that!" she threatened with her blades. But Virgil did not look at her, staring right at the huge cave that appeared to be a silent seducer to the secrets that laid in its darkness.
"Kill them?" She asked back. "So there is indeed a trap waiting for me in there." she frowned.
"Yes, the unborn children of the sinful."
She raised a brow at him, "the what!?"
"what ever you do, don’t kill them! It does not end well. It never does."
On saying this, Virgil suddenly touched her forehead. action that made her back away immediately. He only gave a side smile. He had passed the knowledge he wanted to.
"You are welcome." he added and then he disappeared, making Athena look around the place like an indecisive chicken.
She tightened her brows even more as she proceeded in on the back of the Hell beast baby.
she could feel from the hell beast that it was not nervous about entering this place, maybe it was because it had come through this region before, but her senses told her that this place was pretty dangerous and she was definitely going to treat it as such.
The journey was steady at first. the inside of the cave was totally dark, and the smell of sulfur was thicker here.
Then again, Athena did not need light as she did not even use her eyes. And the smell of sulfur was something she was used to by now.
At first came the sounds of crawling creatures. On the walls. like insects scrawling around, their legs hitting hard against the rocks and all over the place.
Athena’s hands moved in the direction of the sounds. Every time she would sense movement from a certain direction, she would point her sharp bones there, but nothing came for them.
The moment was a tense one. However, even after going in for ten whole minutes, there was till no attack whatsoever.
And then another ten minutes, and Athena was starting to think maybe she was thinking too much about it, and maybe there was actually nothing to be scarred about.
And then the hell beast went through a region, its walls like they were bleeding pus from time to time. Attached to their bodies were deformed humans.
On reaching this place, words suddenly appeared in her mind, as if to declare the location she had entered.
It was called, "The Sinful Womb of the Unborn."
She looked around. These deformed people, attached to the walls were women, all of them appeared to be pregnant with full tummies.
Athena noticed that any time she faced any of them for too long, the tummies looked as if the children within them were kicking.
The further inside they went, the more pregnant women they were. Some hung over rock branches and even the ceiling like pupa about to mature into butterflies.
Some of them could see her and they turned to her, pleading for help. But she looked away. this place was already too strange as it was, even though she felt a bit of pity for this people, she instinctively knew that they were already dead. Souls condemned for their sin of abortion when they were in the world of the living.
All of them had been condemned to suffer for this. Taking the life of innocent.
Athena was surprised that once again, information had been made more accessible with her. But by now she already knew that it was because of Virgil.
that touch on her head was more like a gift.
Just a few more hundreds of meters ahead was what looked like a portal, its edges wrapped around in flames. It was a unique portal one she had never seen before.
It would seem like that was their exit from this place.
Seeing as there was no need to keep up the battle, she lowered her weapons. It was at such a time that it happened.
Falling from the ceiling from the spread out legs of one of the mothers.
An oddly deformed looking infant. still with the umbilical cord, and all that attached to its body.
It was as if someone had suddenly vomited in front her, expecting the vomit to be pampered and cuddled.
Even her senses reading this, felt disgusted, and then she waved her hand, wiping it to the side with a blade, and off the body of mutant.
However, the baby suddenly grabbed at her arm, its fingers sinking into her clothes to hold firm.
Its head, abominably twisted, rotated three hundred and sixty degrees, totally twisting its head as it stared at her, "mama?"
She waved her hand, but it did not let go. She tried again, but it did not let go, and then she used her other hand. However, in trying to peel the creature from her hand, it was too fragile, and her blade tore off one of its hands.
It suddenly screamed loudly in pain, its voice echoing across the cavern.
At first it looked as if nothing happened as Athena surveyed her environment.
However, she suddenly heard voices as the crawling sounds increased. ’mama! mama! mama! mama!!’
These calls came from all angles, as these abominable babies pushed and tore out of wombs, revealing their forms, sharp teeth, long claws.
These babies crawled up side down on the walls.
It was an incredibly abominable sight.
"FUCK!!!" Athena cursed loudly, her voice echoing through the hellish cavern. The sight of the abominable babies, their twisted forms crawling toward her, filled her with both disgust and rage. She quickly pulled out bone spikes from her tattered garments, each one etched with the strange runic symbols that glowed faintly in the dim light of the cave.
She didn’t have time to figure out exactly what each rune did, but there was no choice. The first bone spike she hurled at the nearest cluster of the grotesque creatures exploded on impact, sending chunks of flesh and fragments of bone scattering in all directions. The explosion reverberated through the cavern, causing some of the babies to hesitate, their sharp teeth chattering in eerie unison.
"Get moving, little ONE!" she yelled at the hell beast baby she was riding. It let out a low growl, sensing the urgency in her voice, and began to charge toward the portal in the distance.
The portal’s flames flickered, casting a haunting light on the swarming infants as they scrambled across the walls and floor, their deformed mouths all chanting "mama, mama, mama" in a nightmarish chorus.
Athena continued to hurl bone spikes at the advancing horde. Some exploded like the first, tearing through the mass of babies with devastating force, while others simply emitted thick clouds of smoke, obscuring her view and causing her to cough. She spat a curse, frustrated by the unpredictable nature of the runes, but she didn’t have time to think. More of the babies were closing in, their tiny, clawed hands reaching out for her.
The hell beast baby beneath her moved with surprising agility, dodging the grasping hands of the abominable creatures as it bounded over the uneven terrain. Athena kicked and slashed at the babies that got too close, her makeshift blade slicing through their soft, malformed flesh. But for every one she struck down, ten more seemed to take its place, all of them scrambling toward her with relentless determination.
"They just keep coming!" Athena growled, her muscles straining as she fended off the swarm. The babies were like ants converging on sugar, their numbers overwhelming. They crawled over each other in their desperation to reach her, their cries of "mama" growing louder and more frantic.
Athena swung her blade in a wide arc, slicing through a cluster of babies that had leaped toward her. Their bodies hit the ground with wet thuds, but still, the horde pressed on. She could feel the weight of their tiny bodies as they clung to her legs, their sharp claws digging into her skin. She kicked them off with fierce determination, but they were relentless, like a tidal wave of flesh and bone.
"Come on, move faster!" she urged the hell beast baby, feeling the strain in her own body as she fought off the onslaught. The portal was still some distance away, but it was their only hope of escaping this nightmarish place.
With every step, Athena continued to throw bone spikes into the crowd. The explosions were becoming more sporadic, and the smoke bombs were growing thicker, making it harder to see. But she didn’t stop. She couldn’t stop. If they didn’t reach the portal soon, they would be overwhelmed.
The hell beast baby seemed to sense her desperation and pushed itself harder, its powerful legs propelling them forward through the mass of abominable babies. They were nearly there, the flames of the portal growing larger with each passing second.
But the babies weren’t giving up. They clung to Athena’s arms and legs, their tiny mouths biting into her flesh, their claws tearing at her clothes. She screamed in pain but kept fighting, slashing at them with her blade, throwing the last of her bone spikes into the crowd.
Finally, with one last burst of speed, the hell beast baby leaped through the portal’s flames, carrying Athena with it.
Athena chuckled. They were out of it and into the open. However, she suddenly heard a voice beside her. It was Virgil’s. "Why are you happy, they are not done yet."
Athena turned to look behind her, to her surprise, the babies were still in pursuit.
"I warned you, didn’t I? You just had to touch one of them. Now, they will hunt you forever..."
