Chapter 915 915: Operation Ambush Was Initiated
[ Fiery Eagles Headquarters… ]
Ella was currently talking to Dos and the rest of the medical staff when suddenly someone barged into the room.
Everyone was surprised to see Flint as he ran in Ella's direction. Before she could even say hi and greet him, Flint already grabbed her, pulling her into a tight hug.
This scene made everyone speechless including Ella. But since Flint was her close friend, she didn't mind it at all. She hugged him back, glad to see him once again after a long time.
"You're finally back…" Flint mumbled, tightening his grip on her body.
Dos and others just watched them, smiling teasingly at the two. Not wanting to disturb and ruin the moment between Ella and Flint, Dos motioned his colleagues to follow him, leaving the room.
"How have you been?" Ella asked her friend, breaking the hug.
Flint stayed silent for a moment, just staring at her beautiful face. He missed her so much. He was not able to control himself from going to the main headquarters just to see Ella. He was not supposed to leave the Training Camp!
"Flint? Are you okay? Why are you not saying anything?" Ella pinched his cheeks and giggled.
Flint could only hold her hands, stopping her from pinching his cheeks. Then he squeezed her hands, his eyes filled with joy and longing.
"I've been waiting for your return…" he confessed.
Ella nodded her head and pulled him towards the vacant seat. They sat down, facing each other.
"Congratulations, Flint! You are now an official member of Fiery Eagles. I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you. I did it…"
"So what are you doing here? Have you done visiting Mr. Liam?" Flint asked her. He didn't know how he would describe his feelings. He thought he couldn't face her after what happened between Cassie and him. But he didn't want to miss this chance to see Ella.
"Yeah, I dropped by his ward the first minute I arrived here," Ella replied, there was a gleam in her eyes as she thought about Liam. She subconsciously brought her fingers to her lips, gently tracing them.
Flint noticed the joy in her eyes when Liam was mentioned. As always, he would suddenly feel jealous of Liam. He could see how Liam was important to Ella. Would he be able to get the same affection from her? He had been accompanying Ella in the past as they watched unconscious Liam in his sickbed.
"How I wish Mr. Liam will finally wake up," Flint softly mumbled, hiding his jealousy with a faint smile.
"Yes. I am praying too. I came back earlier because of him. I will be joining the medical team starting tomorrow. Dos gave me a brief orientation and introduced me to the other medical staff."
Flint was so glad to hear that. It only meant he could see her more often as Ella would be staying in the Main Headquarters starting tomorrow.
"I'm so glad," Flint said with his elated voice. His mood changed once again. Her news was enough to lift his mood.
"But you are staying in the Training Camp as of now, right?" Ella remembered that Uno mentioned the screening test for the new aspiring members of Fiery Eagles. Flint was one of the trainers.
"Yes, but it will only last for a month." Flint had the urge to finish the screening test and hiring of new members as soon as possible. He couldn't wait to be with Ella. He would certainly help her with what she needed in the main HQ.
"Flint, I have to go now. I haven't informed my parents yet about my arrival." She was referring to Titania and Zu Wan. "I'm also excited to see the twins!"
Flint was taken aback for a moment. Thinking about it, he hadn't seen Cassie and Christian for a long time. He didn't know what they would look like now as a grown man and woman.
"Please send my regards to Christian and Cassandra," Flint said with a smile.
"You haven't seen them yet?" Ella asked him curiously.
Flint shook his head. "The last time I saw them was like 15 years ago… I can't even remember their faces… except for Christian. He's been visiting the headquarters in the past. But Cassie seems like she went into hiding." Flint chuckled at that thought.
He could still remember how Cassie would follow him around, sticking to him like glue. He wondered if she had matured now. But little did he know, Cassie was already by his side. He even tasted her lips already, kissing her like there was no tomorrow. Their memorable first kiss in that waterfall just happened today!
"Alright. I will not keep you here for long. You have to see your family. I know how much they missed you." Flint uttered as he could relate to that.
"Let's meet them next time. We should hang out with the twins!" Ella suggested cheerfully.
"Sure."
The two hugged each other one last time before Ella left to see her parents and the twins. Meanwhile, Flint also decided to return to the Training Camp. He also had to confront a certain someone.
Now that Ella is back, he shouldn't be involved with another woman. Kissing Cassie was a mistake so he would talk to her and apologize.
By the time he arrived at the training camp, the three teams were on the last hour of their mission, the treasure hunt! The Blue team gathered twenty treasure chests while the Green Team found nineteen treasure chests. The Red Team got five for Cassie defeating Justine in a one-on-one battle.
Cassie and her team members regrouped at the southern entrance of the forest. They were now waiting for their team leader's command.
"Boss, what's our game plan? Who are we going to target? The Blue or the Green Team?" Tom asked her inquisitively. He just wished that Cassie would not target Lilith's team, otherwise, he had to warn her.
"We will target both teams!" she declared.
Her four members looked at her with disbelief. 'WHAT? We will ambush both teams?! How can we pull it off? we are outnumbered by the opposing teams.'
"Team leader, are you sure about this?" Clark asked her again.
Cassie just bobbed her head confidently.
"But there are too many of them." Austin also raised their concerns.
"Don't worry, I am with you!" She reassured them.
The four men were still doubting her strategy. Soon Cassie started dividing the task.
"Joshua, you keep as many treasure chests as you can. Austin, tie them once I'm done knocking their other team members down. Clark, keep following the Blue Team. Once we are done with the Green Team, we will also steal some treasure chests from them. We have to take ten treasure chests per team."
"How about me, Boss?" Tom asked as he didn't hear his name being mentioned by Cassie. 'Did she realize what I am planning?'
Cassie shifted his gaze to Tom. She intentionally put him last for the reason that she remembered it was Tom who forced the team to drink those barrels of beer last night. Because of him, they faced a great consequences. As punishment, Cassie assigned to him a special task.
"You will be our decoy… our bait! You have to distract them and catch their attention. Is that clear?"
Tom: "..."
'Why do I feel like I was being punished?' Tom lamented to himself.
"Now, let's get to work, BOYS!" Cassie said, cheering them on.
Cassie and her members finally made a move. They were now on their way to ambush the Green Team.
Flint, who was watching in the CCTV Control room, also noticed the strange movement of the Red Team. "What are they planning?"
A few seconds later, Flint had figured out what the Red Team was planning to do. "Damn! That woman is so clever and wicked! They planned it all along. They are going for loot!"
Flint didn't expect this kind of strategy. The Red Team intentionally let the other two teams do all the work, finding the treasure chests and conquering the traps and obstacles. And in the end, without getting more sweat, they would ambush just to steal the treasure chests from the opposing team.
Someone wouldn't dare do this unless he or she was capable that their team was stronger than the other. "Can they pull this off?" Flint wondered to himself, his eyes not leaving the monitor screen. He was following Cassie's every movement. Deep down, he was anticipating what Cassie would do to win this activity.
Ten minutes later, Cassie and her three members were able to surround the Green Team who was approaching the northern entrance of the forests. They had to stick together to protect the treasure chests they were carrying with them.
Out of the blue, someone came running in their direction, declaring a fight. It was Tom, trying to divert their attention. After all, he was the bait and decoy here! Cassie's Operation Ambush was now initiated!
