Chapter 921 921: A War Between Guardian Warriors
Chapter 921 921: A War Between Guardian Warriors
Justine and Eleven chose the most secluded area in the forest wherein they could talk to Cassie alone. This was a very important discussion as it matters of life and death.
"What do you wanna talk about with me?" Cassie asked them with intrigue.
"We know… that you have powers. You are not an ordinary human. And you are a descendant of the demon god." Eleven didn't beat around the bush as he told her directly, catching Cassie by surprise.
"But Miss Cassie, don't misunderstand. We are not an enemy. We are here to ask for your help!" Justine butted in, afraid that Cassie would suddenly attack them.
"Who are you people?!" Cassie asked them with her stern voice. Her expression changed. She was now surrounded by a chilly aura.
"We are from the world of the guardian warriors!" Justine told her truthfully.
Cassie's eyes widened when she heard that. Those words were taboo words for her. She hated guardian warriors. They almost lost their great-grandpa because of them Christian sacrificed his power. Their grandmother died in the hands of guardian warriors. Their mother's friend, Liam, was still in his deep slumber.
But she wouldn't let her anger blind her judgment. She was not like those guardian warriors who would hurt anyone just because of their wrong ideals.
"What business do guardian warriors have with me? Do you wanna fight us again?" Cassie asked with her angry tone. She clenched her fists as she looked daggers at them.
Justine and Eleven immediately dropped to their knees, kneeling in front of her.
"Please, Miss Cassie! We need your help. Our world is in turmoil right now. Innocent people are dying. Monsters reappear, destroying the villages and killing innocent people." Justine explained to her the situation.
"You are powerful enough to fight those monsters. You, your brother, and your mother…" Eleven added.
"And why would I help you? The guardian warriors owed my family big time. You chased after my mother, thinking that she was an evil person. Your descendant sealed her. And now, you have the guts to ask for our help. You are guardian warriors, right?
Then protect your own people!" Cassie yelled at them. She couldn't believe that they would be shameless enough to ask her.
What if this was another scheme of guardian warriors? They couldn't be trusted.
"The guardian warriors… are now divided…" Justine informed her. "We are also at war with the other warriors…"
Cassie was taken aback when she heard that. What happened to them? She thought guardian warriors were united with one goal in mind: to kill the descendants of the demon god.
"We already changed, Miss Cassie. We are not the same guardian warriors who blindly believed that the demon god and his family were evil. We acknowledged the wrongdoings of our elders. Please come with us for you to see it by yourself. Our elders also wanted to apologize to you and to your mother." Justine sounded so sincere when he said those words.
Cassie fell silent for a moment. She didn't have a plan to help them. But she was curious as to why they came here just to ask for her help. What happened to their clans?
"War among guardian warriors? When did this happen? And why?" Cassie toned down a little bit. Now she was willing to listen to their story.
"Our elders sent us here to look for the demon god's daughter… They said she was a good person. And that they misjudged her before." Justine began to tell her the story.
"We did our best to become a member of Fiery Eagles for two years. We have been searching for your mother and you… but to no avail, we couldn't find you. You are no longer staying at the Davis Mansion. The demon god had lost his power." Eleven had to tell her how they ended up in the Fiery Eagles.
"How did you know… that I am the demon god's granddaughter?" Cassie asked them.
"I discovered it accidentally when you used your power in the waterfalls… the day you fought Justine and defeated him." Eleven answered her. He told her everything he saw that day.
'Damn! I'm not careful enough to hide my identity,' Cassie scolded herself.
"Alright. But I want to know how guardian warriors got into wars." Cassie repeated her question. This was the topic she was most interested in.
Eleven and Justine exchanged glances with one another. Justine took a deep sigh and spoke what he knew.
"It all started when the guardian warriors killed my Aunt Riyu. Someone framed her in front of everyone. Her friend betrayed her, telling the other guardian warriors that she was possessed by the demon god… that she was under the spell of the demon god's daughter."
"Riyu was one of those guardian warriors who were sent here to look for our former guardian leader and the demon god's daughter. After they returned, she spoke on behalf of the former leader, saying that the demon god and her daughter had changed and they were no longer a threat.
She also insisted that the former guardian leader didn't betray them." Justine continued to recall what happened in the past.
"Aunt Riyu remained loyal to our previous guardian leader. Her friend Calec manipulated the truth. Another two guardian warriors supported his claim. No one believed my Aunt's words. It was three vs one." Justine clenched his fists as he could still remember how his Aunt died in the hands of the guardian warriors.
"A few months after my Aunt's death, Shino came to our family, revealing the truth. It was Mheera who urged the three men to lie in front of the council. Shino regretted it. He was filled with guilt for my Aunt's death."
"Shino decided to clear my Aunt Riyu's name. But not everyone believed. Mheera's and Calec's clans were powerful and more influential than us. They marked our clans as a Rebel group. Some guardian warriors who believed in our former guardian leader formed an alliance with us."
"Wait… former guardian leader… Are you referring to Uncle Liam? Are you aware that your former guardian leader is in the Fiery Eagles headquarters?" Cassie asked as the realization struck her.
Eleven: "..."
Justine: "..."
